MS / HS Advanced Class - Entering 6th through 12th graders

My goal is to bring quality art education to my students! I want art class to be one of the favorite parts of their week. Empowering my students to create with confidence, while having fun & growing in the belief that they are an artist is my passion and priority! 🤩🎨 

In my classes we learn about the elements of art, art vocabulary, famous artists, current artists & endless art concepts & methods. I love to tie in books & games as well as make all my own handouts. If your student loves art or if you want your child to learn more about art, my studio is the place for them!

Projects include drawing, painting, collage, mixed media, 3-dimensional art and more. Each student receives a folder for “Weekly Doodle” warm ups and drawing exercises that remains in my classroom for the school year. I introduce my students to a variety of art supplies including a few of my favorites - Prismacolor pencils, liquid watercolors, acrylic paints, glitter glue, Stabilo pencils, sharpies, construction paper crayons…you get the idea! 

My MS/HS advanced class for 6th through 12th graders will take a deeper dive into more advanced art projects & materials, freedom to choose and Principles of Design.

TUITION / FEES POLICY

• A Non-Refundable $30 Deposit/Supply Fee is required to secure your child’s spot in a class.

• Tuition: $85/month per student, due at the first lesson of each month (Sept–April).

• Tuition is based on total lessons for the school year, divided monthly, so the rate is always $85, no matter the number of lessons in a month.

• $15 late fee for payments received after the 10th.

• Payment: Checks (Alisa Nelson Studio), Venmo @AlisaNelsonStudio, or CashApp $AlisaNelsonStudio.

• Epic Activity Fund: Alisa Nelson Studio is a vendor with Epic Charter Schools. Please let Alisa know if you plan to use your Epic funds. It is your responsibility to monitor your funds & pay the balance when funds are depleted.

• If ending lessons during the school year, please notify Alisa by the 25th of the prior month. Tuition is non-refundable.

ABSENCES / MAKE-UP POLICY

• No make-up classes for student absences.

• If we must cancel, we will do our best to provide a make-up (by extending class times or adding in May).

• We follow Edmond Public Schools calendar & weather closings. No make-ups for weather cancellations can be provided.

MISC. INFO

• Aprons provided, but please send your child in art-appropriate clothing.

• No food or drinks in class.

• Many projects take multiple classes to finish, so art will not come home weekly. Each student has a folder of drawing exercises and warm ups. Will be sent home at year’s end.

• Drop off no earlier than 5 minutes before class and pick up no later than 5 minutes after. Alisa stays with students until picked up.

Once we receive your enrollment form, we will send a confirmation email with payment info, studio address, etc.

Our home studio is located in southwest Edmond, OK. The nearest cross streets are NW 178th and Western. Our address will be in your email confirmation that you receive after enrolling your child.
