A new collection of artwork is unveiled. Alison immersed herself in hundreds of her own nature photographs and found herself continually drawn back to one enduring subject: trees. Throughout her childhood and teenage years, nature was her solace. Standing beneath towering pines brought her a deep sense of peace — the crisp air, the shadowy hues draping overhead, and the quiet rhythm of walking among them felt, and still feels, magical. Those early moments beneath the trees instilled in her a lasting sense of hope.
Over time, Alison has traveled widely, capturing landscapes that echo that same feeling — from Peaceful Valley and Tyler State Park in Pennsylvania, to the majestic redwoods of Muir Woods National Monument in California, the coastal cliffs of Lands End, and regions throughout Upstate New York, Colorado, New Mexico, Portugal, and China. Yet at the heart of this collection are those formative childhood memories — the quiet strength of trees, the shelter they offered, and the emotional refuge they provided. It is the blending of those early experiences and her later travels that ultimately brought this body of work to life.
Thank you, for your time looking into my journey of work. I hope you feel or felt that you could sit inside these paintings and just be. Just like I do. Enjoy.
