2026 Technical Report

In 2025, the amount of waste electrical and electronic equipment processed by our two recycling systems – SENS eRecycling and Swico Recycling – exceeded the 140,000-tonne mark for the first time. This represents an increase of 6% compared to the previous year. Also in 2025, Parliament established a new legal basis for the reuse of waste electrical equipment (WEEE), while we generated important momentum in the circular economy by means of numerous projects.

Vape recycling

Most vapes end up in landfill together with general waste instead of being recycled. However, e-cigarettes are electrical equipment that must be disposed of properly. This is because e-cigarettes contain reusable materials that should be put back into circulation. At the same time, however, they are also highly inflammable and contain heavy metals, which are harmful for the environment. In response to this trend, SENS eRecycling has devised an industry solution for environmentally friendly disposal of e-cigarettes.
