However, video captured by <strong>FOX 5 NY</strong> from outside the arena shows a flurry of activity typical of a massive, multi-million dollar production.</p><p>Production trucks, forklifts and moving equipment have been surrounding the venue, while workers unload large cases from unmarked trucks.</p><figure><img src="https://images.foxtv.com/static.fox5ny.com/www.fox5ny.com/content/uploads/2026/07/1280/720/untitled-july-01-2026-at-10.36.49.png?ve=1&tl=1" width="1280" height="720"> <figcaption> </figcaption></figure><p>Deliveries include large amounts of furniture, notably chairs, which hint at a seated event rather than a standard standing-room concert setup. Crews have been seen taping down the stairs, a standard industry practice before laying out red carpets or custom flooring.</p><p>Workers onsite have been refusing to acknowledge any details about the setup.</p><p>NYPD response</p><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="What they're saying"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>During a press conference on Wednesday, NYPD Commissioner Jessica Tisch said that the department would have "a detail in place" for an event on Friday. However, she declined to discuss any specific details.</p><p>While city officials have remained tight-lipped and declined to confirm any pulled permits, the physical evidence outside the venue is hard to ignore.</p><h2>Rumored itinerary </h2><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="Timeline"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>What started as whispers on TMZ has now been semi-confirmed by a recent New York Times report teasing a "black tie Swift-Kelce event."</p><p>According to these multiple reports, the couple have planned a multi-day celebration to ring in the Fourth of July weekend.</p><p>A rehearsal dinner with an estimated 100 close friends and family members is rumored to take place on Thursday, July 2. The July 3 wedding is reportedly kicking off with a 4 p.m. cocktail hour and celebration expected to stretch into Saturday morning.</p><h2>Security</h2><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="Local perspective"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>If you're hoping for a flood of selfies or leaked videos from the dance floor, don't hold your breath.</p><p>Sources indicate that attendees have been required to sign strict Non-Disclosure Agreements (NDAs). Furthermore, a total no-phone policy is reportedly being enforced for the duration of the two-day event. This rule applies to everyone inside the building, from A-list guests to the security personnel themselves.</p><h2>MSG curfew</h2><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="Dig deeper"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>Transforming Madison Square Garden from a sports and concert arena into a romantic wedding venue is an incredibly costly endeavor, but one that Swift certainly has the means to execute. However, there is one massive logistical hurdle: the curfew.</p><p>Madison Square Garden strictly enforces an 11 p.m. curfew. Any event that runs past this deadline is subject to staggering fines, often costing thousands of dollars, and potentially up to $10,000 per minute, in penalties. If the rumored wedding reception truly runs into Saturday morning as reports suggest, the venue overtime fees alone could top six figures.</p><fts-yahoo-source format="html" text="<p>This article includes reporting by The Associated Press.</p>" title="The Source"></fts-yahoo-source></article></body></html>]]></content:encoded>

However, video captured by FOX 5 NY from outside the arena shows a flurry of activity typical of a massive, multi-million dollar production.</p><p>Production trucks, forklifts and moving equipment have been surrounding the venue, while workers unload large cases from unmarked trucks.</p><figure><img src="https://images.foxtv.com/static.fox5ny.com/www.fox5ny.com/content/uploads/2026/07/1280/720/untitled-july-01-2026-at-10.36.49.png?ve=1&tl=1" width="1280" height="720"> <figcaption> </figcaption></figure><p>Deliveries include large amounts of furniture, notably chairs, which hint at a seated event rather than a standard standing-room concert setup. If the rumored wedding reception truly runs into Saturday morning as reports suggest, the venue overtime fees alone could top six figures.</p><fts-yahoo-source format="html" text="<p>Information from this article was sourced from TMZ, the New York Times and reporting by FOX 5.</p>" title="The Source"></fts-yahoo-source></article></body></html>]]></content:encoded>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<html data-server-rendered="true"><head></head><body><article><fts-yahoo-brief title="The Brief" items="[object Object]" isbrief="true"></fts-yahoo-brief><p><span><strong>NEW YORK CITY</strong> - </span>July 1st is likely a happy day in the life of retired baseball star Bobby Bonilla and perhaps a frustrating one for the New York Mets payroll department. That is because every year on this date, the Mets pay Bonilla more than $1 million for a season he never actually played in Flushing.</p><h2>What is Bobby Bonilla Day?</h2><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="The backstory"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>In Bonilla's final stint with the Mets in 1999, he hit .160 with 4 home runs and 18 RBIs over 60 games. So rather than bring the aging slugger back for the 2000 season, for which he was to be paid $5.9 million, Mets management agreed to buy out his contract.</p><p>Bobby Bonilla #25 of the New York Mets looks on during the game against the Montreal Expos at Shea Stadium in Flushing, New York. </p><p>But the terms of the buyout are kind of hilarious – New York wanted to defer payments to Bonilla for a decade.</p><h2>When does Bobby Bonilla Day end?</h2><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="Timeline"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>So the team offered to pay Bonilla an installment every year starting on July 1, 2011, and ending on July 1, 2035. With a negotiated 8% interest rate, the annual check comes to about $1.19 million. That means Bobby will rake in nearly $30 million instead of the original nearly $6 mil. </p><h3>When is Bobby Bonilla Day?</h3><p>And thus July 1 became known as Bobby Bonilla Day among fans, who have mocked the deal for decades. But in the social media era, the annual event has reached a higher level of nuttiness.</p><figure><img src="https://images.foxtv.com/static.fox5ny.com/www.fox5ny.com/content/uploads/2026/07/1280/720/gettyimages-286475.jpg?ve=1&tl=1" width="1280" height="720"> <figcaption><div>25 JUL 1993:  NEW YORK METS THIRD BASEMAN BOBBY BONILLA WATCHES A PREVIOUS HIT DURING THE METS VERSUS LOS ANGELES DODGERS GAME AT DODGER STADIUM IN LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA.  MANDATORY CREDIT:  STEPHEN DUNN/ALLSPORT</div> </figcaption></figure><h2>Why does Bobby Bonilla still get paid?</h2><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="Dig deeper"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>Why would the Mets agree to something so absurd? Two words: Bernie Madoff. At the time of the deal, the team and ownership were invested with the Ponzi schemer and expected huge returns on their money.</p><p>Well, we all know what happened. </p><h3>Bobby Bonilla age, contract end</h3><p>Bonilla, who last played in the majors in 2001, was always entertaining to watch on the field and in the batter's box. Now 62, Bonilla will keep cashing those Mets checks until he is 72, ensuring that the Mets and their fans never forget him.</p><h2>Bobby Bonilla stats</h2><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="By the numbers"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>In his 16-year career, Bonilla also played for the Pittsburgh Pirates, the Baltimore Orioles, the Florida Marlins (with whom he won a World Series), the Atlanta Braves, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Los Angeles Dodgers, and the Chicago White Sox. He hit .279 and amassed 2,010 hits, 287 home runs, 1,173 RBI, and 1,084 runs, according to <a href="https://www.baseball-reference.com/players/b/bonilbo01.shtml" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Baseball-Reference.com</a>.</p><fts-yahoo-source format="html" text="<p>This article uses information from Baseball-Reference.com.</p>" title="The Source"></fts-yahoo-source></article></body></html>]]></content:encoded>

We’re underneath that lid, and the heat just kind of gathers up," FOX 5 Metrologist Mike Woods said to describe the oppressive weather pattern.</p><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="By the numbers"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>The humidity is already making its presence known. Early Wednesday morning, temperatures were sitting at a sticky 75 degrees in Central Park and 72 degrees in White Plains. South winds blowing at 5 to 15 mph are consistently pumping up the heat and humidity, which is building underneath a massive ridge of high pressure extending from the Atlantic waters down into the southeastern states.</p><p>There was a brief moment of respite for some as an isolated thunderstorm cluster developed over the central and eastern sections of Long Island before swinging south. Tom Kean Jr. is returning to Congress following a months-long absence, revealing that he had been away receiving treatment for depression.</p><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="What we know"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>Addressing the House floor on Tuesday, Kean opened up about the physical and emotional toll of the illness, declaring that he has returned "healthier, stronger and excited" to get back to work. </p><p>Prior to his return, Kean had not voted in the House since March 5 and had missed over 100 votes, according to the <a href="https://apnews.com/article/tom-kean-jr-new-jersey-congress-e7c40a55f06df86228f3646441532444" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Associated Press.</a></p><p>Despite his time away, Kean won an uncontested primary on June 2 and is continuing his campaign for reelection. In November, he will face Democratic nominee Rebecca Bennett, a former Navy helicopter pilot, in what is expected to be one of New Jersey’s most closely watched and competitive races. </p><p>Democrats view the district, which has flipped back and forth in recent election cycles, as a prime opportunity for a pickup. Trump has also endorsed Kean’s reelection.</p><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="Dig deeper"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>As noted by the Associated Press, his extended absence created complications for House Republican leadership and Speaker Mike Johnson, who has been struggling to pass legislation with a razor-thin 218-212 majority.</p><fts-yahoo-subheader subheader="The backstory"></fts-yahoo-subheader><p>Kean's political roots run deep in the state; his family's history in public service stretches back 250 years. His great-grandfather served as a U.S. senator, his grandfather was a congressman, and his father, Tom Kean Sr., was a two-term governor of New Jersey.</p><fts-yahoo-source format="html" text="<p>Information from this article was sourced from the Associated Press and previous reporting by FOX 5.</p>" title="The Source"></fts-yahoo-source></article></body></html>]]></content:encoded>
