Loamy deposits create the ideal environment for vibrant, expressive Sauvignon Blanc — lifted aromatics and bright purity.

In the Upper Wairau, clay-rich terraces add depth and structure beneath the vines.
The result is a wine of lifted aromatics and bright purity — soil you can taste, place you can point to.
Our way
We named our wines after soil because that’s where the story starts — and where we try to keep it. No flourish in the winery, nothing added that the valley didn’t offer first. Just old riverbed ground, careful hands, and wines that taste of the place they were grown.
Certified — Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand
Fruit comes off the vines in the cool of the morning, holding on to the natural acidity that gives the wine its spine.
A soft pressing and cold fermentation in stainless steel lock in varietal aromatics, keeping the wine bright, pure and precise.
Every parcel is grown on vineyards certified by Sustainable Winegrowing New Zealand, so the soils that name our wines stay alive for the next hundred vintages.
The wine
James Suckling2025 vintage
Zesty. Fresh. Pure Marlborough.
Grown on ancient riverbed soils in the Wairau Valley, this Sauvignon Blanc bursts with layers of passionfruit, lime leaf, and gooseberry. Bright acidity and a clean, mineral finish bring focus and vibrancy to the palate. Refreshing and expressive — just as Sauvignon Blanc should be.
