Afrikan IT Connect - Our First Meetup: A Resounding Success! 🎉 Yesterday, we gathered for the very first Afrikan IT Connect Meetup at Lippulaiva Library in Espoo, and it was truly special. The intention was simple: create an intimate circle of African IT professionals, students, aspiring tech talents, freelancers, and career changers, with a shared great mindset. And it delivered beyond expectations! From the heartfelt Welcome Address, we openly discussed the real challenges many of us face in building tech careers in Finland, from breaking into the job market to building networks and gaining that crucial first opportunity here in Finland and beyond. What followed was rich, honest, and inspiring real discussions, practical insights, and meaningful connections. It turned out to be a wonderful networking ground and a great time of fellowship, learning, and encouragement. We reaffirmed our community’s core pillars: Connect. Learn. Grow. together as African professionals in the Finnish and global tech space. A big thank you to everyone who attended, our guest speakers, and our partners for making this inaugural event memorable.
