North Carolina's population continues to grow - and so does the need for affordable housing. According to a recent report from NCHFA, our state added more than 500,000 residents between 2020 and 2025, while household growth has outpaced housing production by an estimated 125,000 homes. As communities across North Carolina evolve, expanding access to affordable housing and homeownership opportunities is more important than ever. We're proud to be part of the solution by creating homes and opportunities that help individuals, families, and seniors thrive. We had such a meaningful morning at our Homeownership Center Partnership Brunch earlier this month as part of NeighborWorks America Week, bringing together partners, counselors, and community leaders committed to expanding access to affordable homeownership across North Carolina. We shared updates from our Homeownership Center, celebrated the impact of our counseling and education programs, and strengthened connections with the partners who help make this work possible. A special thank you to Fifth Third Bank for sponsoring this event and supporting the work of helping more families achieve their homeownership goals. 🏡✨ We're excited for what’s ahead as we continue working together to support homebuyers and build stronger communities. #DHIC #NeighborWorksWeek #HomeownershipCenter #Homeownership #NorthCarolinaHomeownership #AffordableHousing #FifthThirdBank

Each year, DHIC brings together community partners to celebrate the impact of affordable housing and highlight inspiring success stories, from first-time homebuyers to families building stability through rental communities. We’re grateful to be part of the ongoing work to expand access to housing and resources, such as down payment assistance, throughout Raleigh. Thank you to Sean Nock, Alexandria Tindall, and Yevette Thomas for representing our team at this year’s event and for their ongoing support of this important mission.
