  • We tried our luck at hosting a community Bingo night… and won. On Juneteenth, and ahead of our first-ever Digital Dash 10K Run & 5K Walk, we gathered at Fatima Family Center in the historic Hough neighborhood for pasta, Bingo, cash prizes and laughter. Canopy subscribers, families, neighbors, race participants and sponsors filled the room. DigitalC CEO Joshua Edmonds called the numbers. And the next morning, runners and walkers hit the streets of Hough and saw some of those same familiar faces along the route. A special thank you to our Digital Dash presenting sponsor Tarana Wireless and neighborhood sponsor WAV, LLC — including Carl Guardino and Zach Hubeck — for joining us at the pasta dinner and to all who helped make Digital Dash weekend a special community celebration. We connect people. Sometimes to broadband. Sometimes to food, fun and fellowship via Bingo.

The inaugural Digital Dash 10K Run & 5K Walk was something to see! In the historic Hough neighborhood — where connection meets community — this first-time event brought together runners, walkers, neighbors, partners, sponsors, volunteers and supporters to celebrate a major milestone for DigitalC and the Cleveland community. Congratulations to our race winners! 🏆 We are also proud to celebrate every participant who showed up with energy, purpose and Cleveland pride. A special thank you to our presenting sponsor, Tarana Wireless, Carl Guardino, Councilwoman Stephanie Howse-Jones, and our neighborhood sponsors: WAV, LLC, Heights Tower Service, Speelman Electric, Inc. and Crown Castle. We are especially grateful to our DigitalC Board members for showing up in support of this milestone moment and the work ahead as we continue connecting Cleveland, one installation at a time. We brought the miles. You brought the smiles. And together, we made the first Digital Dash one to remember.

  • Join DigitalC, Broadband Breakfast, Cleveland City Council and Tarana Wireless for a special Juneteenth conversation on how Cleveland is approaching 10,000 broadband connections and what communities across the country can learn from the Cleveland Model. 📅 Today, June 19 🕐 1 p.m. ET We hope you'll join us.

"The cost of digital equity is less than the price of digital exclusion." Inspired by the work of W.E.B. Du Bois, this principle should remain top of mind for everyone working at the intersection of broadband, economic mobility, education, and public policy. This Juneteenth, I invite you to join me, Cleveland City Council Utilities Chair Brian Kazy, and Carl Guardino for a special Broadband Breakfast conversation on how DigitalC and Tarana Wireless are connecting Cleveland and building what has become known as the "Cleveland Model". The Cleveland Model demonstrates what is possible when a city makes a deliberate investment in digital equity. Through the leadership of the City of Cleveland - City Hall, one of the few major American cities to dedicate ARPA resources directly toward citywide broadband access, thousands of Cleveland residents now have access to affordable, high-quality internet and the opportunities that come with it. The model also showcases the ingenuity of Tarana's Next Generation Fixed Wireless Access (ngFWA) technology. From Cleveland's dense tree canopy to our challenging weather conditions, Tarana has helped make one of the most significant urban broadband deployments in America possible. And finally, there is DigitalC, the nonprofit entrusted with making this vision a reality. Together with our partners, we have now surpassed 10,000 broadband connections across Cleveland, demonstrating that digital inclusion is not only achievable, but scalable. Our philosophy remains simple: Digital access for everybody, or digital access for nobody. Join us on Juneteenth as we discuss how Cleveland is proving that digital equity can be a catalyst for economic opportunity, workforce participation, educational achievement, and community prosperity. Juneteenth calls us to examine where access, freedom, and opportunity are still delayed—and broadband is one modern example. On Friday, June 19 at 1 p.m. ET, Joshua Edmonds of DigitalC will join Drew Clark of Breakfast Media LLC's , Carl Guardino of Tarana Wireless's and Brian Kazy of Cleveland City Council for a special Juneteenth conversation about digital equity, connectivity, and what it takes to close the digital divide - for good. As DigitalC approaches 10,000 connections in Cleveland, we are proud to share how high-speed home internet access with a focus on affordability is creating new opportunities for residents across our city—and how the Cleveland Model is providing a blueprint for communities nationwide. Join us as we discuss what's possible when innovation, public-private partnership, and purpose come together to expand access and economic mobility. 📅 Friday, June 19 🕐 1 p.m. ET Thank you to Broadband Breakfast, Tarana Wireless, and Councilman Brian Kazy for advancing this important conversation. • Cleveland is on the move. What started as an effort to bridge the digital divide has grown into one of the nation’s fastest-growing community-based broadband movements — connecting thousands of Cleveland households to high-speed home internet and training thousands more residents in digital skills. On June 20, that momentum becomes visible in the streets of Cleveland through the inaugural Digital Dash 10K Run & 5K Walk at the MidTown Tech Hive. The event marks DigitalC’s path to 10,000 household connections and reflects something bigger than a race: infrastructure, innovation, community partnership and a city moving from worst to first in connectivity. Special thanks to our Presenting Sponsor Tarana Wireless and the Neighborhood Sponsors helping power this event: WAV, LLC, Crown Castle, Speelman Electric, Inc. and Heights Tower Service. • Recently, we hosted our first subscriber referral raffle for Canopy, Powered by DigitalC — our high-speed home internet service for Cleveland residents. Congratulations to TeShona, whose referrals earned her family tickets to their first-ever Cleveland Guardians game. ⚾ Sharing with others turned into making menories at the ballpark with her children. Her reaction to winning made our day: “I was literally just saying I wanted to take the boys to a game…” Word-of-mouth referrals continue to play a major role in helping us expand digital access across Cleveland. Go Guards!

  • We are honored. Yesterday, the City of Cleveland - City Hall recognized DigitalC as a 2026 Age-Friendly Champion. During Cleveland Senior Day, we joined residents, leaders and community partners at Public Hall to celebrate the people and organizations working to make Cleveland a more connected, accessible and age-friendly city. This recognition is especially meaningful because daily we hear directly from older adults about what digital access and digital skills make possible: ⭐ Learning how to use a phone with confidence. ⭐ Connecting with grandkids. ⭐ Navigating telehealth appointments. ⭐ Understanding drones and new technology. ⭐ Building the skills to participate more fully in a connected world. That is what this work is about. Thank you to Mary McNamara at the City of Cleveland Department of Aging and the Senior Day Committee for this honor. We are proud to stand alongside so many partners committed to building a city where everyone can fully participate in the digital age. Special thanks to Mayor Justin M. Bibb, Cleveland City Council President Blaine Griffin and Councilwomen Stephanie Howse-Jones and Deborah Gray for helping recognize this important work. We connect people. And we are grateful to do that in our city!

  • Big news for Cleveland. 🎯 Cleveland City Council has authorized a full $4.35 million performance payment to DigitalC after we surpassed our 2025 connectivity and digital skills targets. This major milestone is validation of what Cleveland chose to build: a community-based model for digital equity powered by public investment, nonprofit innovation, philanthropic partnership and community trust. Since January 2024, DigitalC has connected more than 9,200 Cleveland homes, representing more than 22,000 residents, while training more than 20,000 residents in essential digital skills. We are grateful for Mayor Justin M. Bibb’s administration, Cleveland City Council, the Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Foundation, the Ohio Department of Development and the growing group of catalytic partners helping make this work possible. Sometimes we connect people to broadband. Sometimes we connect them to opportunity via the connected city they deserve. Read more: https://bit.ly/3RiHpCI
