  • HR Tech vendors are some of the most data-rich companies in the market, and many of them still struggle to answer a simple question: where is the talent in our space actually flowing? Which competitors are sourcing the capabilities they're betting on, and where are they losing the people who built them? Talent flow is one of the clearest signals of a competitor's health and strategy, and it sits inside profile and job-posting data that most teams can access but rarely connect. Reading it well is the difference between a real market view and an educated guess. See how vendors are putting it to work → https://lnkd.in/eeSA3KqK

  • In our Fault Lines report, we defined (3) key disruptions impacting the global labor market. Some industries are dramatically affected by 1 or 2 --- *healthcare* is facing all three. Over the past several weeks, we've explored this via dedicated blogs by Hannah Grieser. First, labor shortage: There are 2.2 million healthcare job openings in the US, but only 417,000 unemployed healthcare workers. https://lnkd.in/eDcRWpEu Second, talent pipeline challenge: Nearly 3 million healthcare workers are immigrants, just as immigration rates are declining and demographic trends point to a smaller future workforce. https://lnkd.in/emraGPrq Third, technology shift: Nearly half of all healthcare venture capital investment now flows into AI. https://lnkd.in/egGHtp86 Which of these disruptions is most impacting your life / local community?

  • Geopolitical uncertainty. AI disruption. Demographic pressures. Together, these forces are reshaping the UK's labour market and creating new challenges for employers, education providers, and policymakers. Many organisations are responding with a skills-powered approach. But what does that look like in practice? Join us on 30 June as Lightcast experts discuss: • Why a skills-based approach is essential to overcome these challenges. • How robust skills intelligence facilitates this kind of approach. • What leading organisations are doing to put skills at the heart of their strategy. https://lnkd.in/eJ_VrnmW cc: Andy Durman FIEP Lester Biddle CertIoD MIED Carrie Williams Will Cookson FIEP Alison Ettridge Alexander Kennedy #SkillsPoweredUK #FutureOfWork #WorkforceStrategy #SkillsIntelligence

  • 40% of current skillsets are misaligned with labor market needs. Which means that millions of people are being trained for jobs that are disappearing, while employers struggle to find talent for the jobs that are emerging. UNESCO sits at the heart of efforts to tackle this challenge, strengthening Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) through evidence-based policymaking and curriculum development. But for education systems to teach the skills needed for today's and tomorrow's jobs, UNESCO needed a way to track changing skills demand in real time. As Borhene Chakroun, UNESCO’s Director of the Division for Policies and Lifelong Learning Systems, explains: “Having real-time data at one's fingertips is critical to enabling joint, evidence-based responses to this huge challenge." Enter UNESCO's partnership with Lightcast to build the Global Skills Tracker: an online platform that draws on millions of job adverts and advanced skills intelligence to give countries a live view of how skills demand is changing across occupations, industries, and regions. The result is a better understanding of what employers need today, and a clearer picture of what workers will need tomorrow. Read the full story: https://lnkd.in/eB-ZhpPD

  • Most B2B databases are accurate the day they're built and start degrading from the moment after. People change roles, companies restructure, tech stacks evolve, and the records that don't keep up quietly distort every decision that depends on them. Continuously refreshed profile data solves the part of the problem that's easy to underestimate. It makes sure the foundation your teams are working from actually reflects the market as it is today, rather than the market as it looked when the database was first built. • We're proud to have contributed to the latest Cedefop / OECD - OCDE publication, New Fields for Apprenticeship: Insights for Successful Expansion of Apprenticeships to New Sectors and Occupations. Our Milan-based Data Science Team authored a chapter exploring how labour market data and AI can help identify emerging opportunities for apprenticeships in high-growth sectors such as cybersecurity, fintech, and educational technology. Using Lightcast job postings data, skills intelligence, and advanced analytics, the research demonstrates how apprenticeships can play an increasingly important role in addressing skills shortages, and how such innovative approaches can help Vocational Education and Training providers ensure that their programmes are effective in developing a skilled, future-ready workforce.
