<h2 style="text-align: center;">ECONOMY AND COST OF LIVING</h2><h3>Minimum Wage</h3>Mallory McMorrow supports raising the federal minimum wage from $7.25 per hour to $15 per hour and indexing it to inflation so wages keep pace with the cost of living.In the Michigan State Senate, McMorrow helped pass legislation raising Michigan's minimum wage to $15 per hour by 2027 and tying it to inflation thereafter. She also voted to protect Michigan's earned paid sick leave benefits — the strongest in the Midwest.McMorrow supports federal tax credits and subsidies for small and medium-sized businesses to help them adapt to a federal minimum wage increase without cutting jobs or hours.<h3>Taxes</h3>Mallory McMorrow supports cutting taxes for middle-class and working-class families while ensuring large corporations and the wealthiest Americans pay their fair share. She has stated that Americans who paid into these programs must be guaranteed access to them upon retirement. Mallory McMorrow believes we should fully fund Social Security and ensure it is solvent for decades to come by getting rid of the tax cap that allows a billionaire to stop paying into Social Security after just the first few days of the year, while a teacher, nurse, or firefighter pays in with every paycheck, all year round. Mallory McMorrow supports allowing anyone the ability to opt into Medicare regardless of age, creating a federally-backed public health insurance option.<h3>Small Business and Entrepreneurship</h3>Mallory McMorrow supports expanding access to capital for small businesses, particularly through Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) and community banks. She supports replicating the Michigan Innovation Fund — which she helped create as Chair of the Michigan Senate Economic and Community Development Committee — at the federal level to invest in early-stage, high-growth companies.In Michigan, McMorrow led economic development reform to reduce reliance on large corporate tax breaks and increase investment in small businesses and entrepreneurs. She secured funding for the Revitalization and Placemaking Program and the Going PRO Talent Fund. <h2 style="text-align: center;">LABOR AND WORKERS</h2><h3>Unions and Right to Work</h3>Mallory McMorrow supports guaranteeing and protecting the right of workers to form and join a union. In Michigan, she helped make the state the first in over 50 years to repeal so-called "Right to Work" legislation. Mallory McMorrow supports the PRO Act&nbsp; so every worker has the freedom to join a union and bargain for better wages, benefits, and working conditions without fear of retaliation.<h3>Wages and Worker Protections</h3>Mallory McMorrow supports eliminating worker misclassification and wage theft. In Michigan, she restored prevailing wage requirements on public projects and expanded unemployment benefits from a maximum of 20 weeks to up to 26 weeks, while increasing weekly payments for the first time in over two decades.Mallory McMorrow also introduced legislation requiring employers to disclose their leave policy to all prospective workers in response to constituent stories of working moms having been discriminated against in the hiring process for inquiring about paid leave.<h3>Non-Compete Agreements</h3>Mallory McMorrow supports banning non-compete agreements at the federal level. Her position is that non-competes suppress wages and prevent workers from advancing their careers.

I'll raise the federal minimum wage to $15 an hour and tie it to inflation — like we did in Michigan. I'll protect Social Security and Medicare from the people trying to gut them. And I'll go after the two costs crushing families hardest right now: housing and childcare - by declaring a housing emergency to unleash funding, jobs programs, and build millions of new units; and expanding childcare so no family has to choose between kids and career.We need universal healthcare in this country as fast as we can get there, and I'll fight for it by creating a public option that lets anyone, at any age, opt into Medicare. I'll let Medicare negotiate drug prices, cap out-of-pocket costs, cover mental health the same as physical health, and enshrine access to abortion and contraception into federal law.I'll also take on the people rigging prices against you: corporate hedge funds buying up houses and jacking up rents, grocery chains merging to kill competition and raise food prices, and the tech companies profiting off online scams.And we don't have to choose between our manufacturing roots and the economy of the future. Her front door was never locked, and kids from the neighborhood were always welcome to grab a snack, stay for dinner, or spend the night. Her mother worked full time, raised four kids and cared for her grandmother, who moved in when she was stricken with multiple sclerosis. The definition of hard work and selfless service, Mallory’s mom still found time to bring the community together for an annual town-wide yard sale and take Mallory and her siblings to volunteer at the local soup kitchen.Following in her mother’s footsteps, at 12 years old, Mallory got her first job serving coffee at BINGO night at the local volunteer firehouse. By 16, she was a manager at a local family-run grocery store. That means data center companies, not Michigan families, should pay for their own energy, grid upgrades for the benefit of all ratepayers; pay their fair share in taxes to fund our schools, roads, and communities; and pay our workers by creating good-paying union jobs.</h4> <h2 style="text-align: center;">AGENDA </h2><ul><li>Ensure data centers developers pay their own way –– and then some, so that ratepayers get relief and not a rate hike from data center investment.<ul><li>Enact strong ratepayer protections to ensure protection from new costs associated with data center expansion, including upfront costs for new power generation and transmission infrastructure.</li><li>Require data center developers – not ratepayers – to bear 100% of the infrastructure, generation, and transmission costs needed to serve them.</li><li>Require that data centers invest in grid and infrastructure improvements that help bring rates down and increase access to high-speed internet for rural and low-income residents, as well as upgrades to water and energy infrastructure to account for the resources they consume.</li></ul></li><li>Require that projects are built with union labor, using “hire local” requirements and job quality standards that provide a living wage to workers, and local investments in workforce development.</li><li>Ban the use of non-disclosure agreements between tech companies and local governments that hide the true impact of these facilities from the communities they affect. She is strongly opposed to any attempts to defund schools through vouchers.In Michigan, McMorrow helped pass the largest per-pupil school funding increase in state history.
