...well, there's more - I launch Vivaldi with my own batch file:

You see, there's also HKCU\Software\Google and - came with version 2.9 - the ".vivaldi_reporting_data" directly in the userprofile.
It's a pity, but nothing that can't be handled with a batch file. Of course the biggest drawback remains the hardware binding of extensions and some settings...

It may be useful for you to check:
Settings... \ Appearance \ Compact Layout

And disable:
chrome://flags/#customize-chrome-side-panel

I marked the deletion of "update_notifier.exe" as optional, because it doesn't register itsself in autostart any more. On the other hand, checking for updates from within Vivaldi doen's work without this exe... given the fact that all chrome based browser cannot really be moved from one machine to another, I would recommend to leave the update exe there, as it's a comfy way to update the "portable" version.

I suggest specifying that the file to download to get the portable version is:

Has anyone found a way to auto mark feeds or articles as read? In most other readers, there is an option to mark as read when you navigate away from the feed

I take the opportunity to comment further that I have now tried the program on several occasions, always with good results without reading instructions. Though its interface does look a little intimidating at first, it's not all that difficult.
In particular,
Tools > Fix common errors… : converted a non-working document to a perfect srt.
Synchronization > Adjust all times (show earlier/later)… : was most useful.

Version 3.6.10 available on 2022-11-21. Fixes missing dll file from v3.6.9.

v4.0.2 works great on my windows 10 machine.

I use shredder.exe. It is less than 150kb and fast. As I work, I can move files to be deleted into a 'new folder', planted anywhere. When I am done, shredder.exe takes the 'new folder', and seconds later, it is gone. Loading individual files works fine, too.

Unicode support- partially. Author doesn't want implement fully support. Some months ago I reported about bug - program can't work with Unicode file names from command line. No answer, no fix...

The files are still v7.67. I notified the author.

Version 152.0 and probably also 152.0.1: beware! On quiet some machines Firefox (also the Portable Version) sets itsself to start with Windows, leading to a mess of persistent settings and registry entries and a new blank profile. The corresponding switch in the standard settings dialogue doesn't work, the auto startup can only be switched off by setting "browser.startup.windowsLaunchOnLogin.defaultEnabled" & "browser.startup.windowsLaunchOnLogin.enabled" to "false" in about:config (this way the switch in the standard settings dialogue disappears alltogether)!

I got version 152.0.1 for Windows and followed zorro's configuration advice. Yet, Firefox still started with my Windows 10.
So, I just applied the standard solution of disabling its autostart through:
Task Manager > Startup > Firefox: changed to Disabled.
So far, it works.

Those who don't want to go through this procedure, may better get another portable and stealth browser, such as X-Chromium, which isn't intrusive to start with (pun unintended).

Nevermind, I was not waiting long enough for the indexing to finish. It seems a bit longer with windows 10. Last 64 bits version work fine.
