my first proper kit has just arrived, so naturally I thought i’d share a photo rather than actually use it!
i’ve only really dabbled in the past with one of those cheap aliexpress kits, but i’ve now spent an entirely unreasonable amount of time reading, watching videos, comparing profiles, debating thicknesses and convincing myself that every tiny variation might be the one thing standing between me and competence.
I went for a fairly focused custom multipick set rather than a huge all-purpose kit (probably wo:

it probably would have been better value to buy one of the larger ready-made sets, but I rather enjoyed the process of being fussy about every individual profile and thickness. whether it will cost me more in the long run remains to be seen.
