Thanks for catching that! We fixed it :)

Thanks for bubbling this up. When we moved these messages to notifications, we also strengthened the restrictions and rate limits on how this report type can be used. This means in practice, you’ll never receive more than one notification per week in a 28-day period. We also added new rate limits to prevent abuse, though we can’t share the full details publicly without making those protections easier to work around.

If you don’t want to receive these messages at all, the best option is to turn off notifications from the u/redditcaresresources account, as noted in the message itself.

Beyond redditcaresresources, if you're getting notifications to replies that are already removed by the time you click through, that means our systems or the mods of the community have already taken action - so, no need for you to report them.

Our policies prohibit inciting violence and promoting hate; they do not prohibit social commentary or condemning a quote from a public figure. Our automated tools are designed to identify violating content while taking context into account. That said, we recognize that intent can sometimes be difficult to parse at scale, so providing as much context as possible is helpful. These tools typically do not result in immediate sitewide bans — however, if you believe your content was over-actioned, you can always appeal the decision (appeals are important feedback and directly contribute to improving our systems).

Yes! Head over to the Transparency report and you'll be able to see community bans by violation in Chart 18.

We realize the language is a bit confusing, but this figure includes all reports we’ve actioned. We'll make sure to address this in the next report.

14.1% of all reports we actioned were Rule 3 violations in the latest report. We also recently rolled out a change to remove & restrict ban bots from the platform. If you encounter a subreddit that you suspect is violating Mod Code of Conduct’s Rule 3, please file a report and we’ll look into it as soon as we can.

We would be happy to consider adding additional geographic detail where we can.  We do share geographic breakdowns in other sections of our report like the Legal Removals and Account Information Requests sections.

Appreciate the question. To give a bit of context, we do take action on usernames when they are explicitly hateful – we have an example in the hate update (e.g., userspace/KillAll[EthnicGroup]). However, we generally try not to blanket ban certain words as the context can vary a lot across the platform. If you come across usernames you think we should restrict, please follow the reporting path here under 'how to report a redditor's profile'.
