Bill C-34 is a legislative event that is years in the making since the dawn of widespread social media usage which opened the floodgates for algorithmic digital infrastructure to pour into our lives - A titanic circuit of commercial activity which thrives off our information and feeds the global economy using AI-powered computer systems all woven together through deep-sea fibre optic cables. Whilst this technological revolution has been at foot for just about three decades, its impacts on human civilization are astronomical, immeasurable, and most importantly, completely disregarded by the handful of companies in charge.
The passion component of reading is so important as it has been proven that children who read recreationally improve more in spelling, vocabulary and maths while also having better focus, critical thinking, and memory.
“I’m 36-years-old and I’m doing this now. No one would believe I would go from rehab, to university, to building an app all in two and a half years.”
Balancing academics, campus involvement, networking, and living in a new city is not without struggle. Zeina admitted that her journey was “not all flowers and sunshine” and particularly noted occasional feelings of homesickness, uncertainty about the future, and self-doubt.
“Sometimes you're capable of a lot of things, but our own fears limit us” Zeina reflects.
