There is an elevated risk of wildfires in Central Nevada from 11 AM PDT Thursday morning until 11 PM PDT Thursday evening due to south to southwest wind gusts near 30 mph and minimum relative humidity values as low as nine percent. The combination of critically dry fuels, very low relative humidity values, and gusty south to southwest winds can contribute to extreme fire behavior. Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.

Maximum temperatures across Northern and Central Nevada this afternoon will be seven to nine degrees below normal for this time of year. A warming trend is expected Wednesday through Monday. By Monday afternoon, high temperatures in Northern and Central Nevada will be around five degrees above seasonal values.
