In 2024, we made significant strides with the introduction of Porohita, our new sustainability strategy.
This strategy aligns closely with WM’s core business goals, focusing on five strategic pillars that guide our future sustainability efforts.
From Kaitaia to Bluff, we have over 90 sites that provide comprehensive waste management services, including collections, recycling, composting, and hazardous waste processing. Based on WM New Zealand’s 2025 Annual Volumes Report, Recovery Dashboard (as per our SLL reporting), verified carbon reporting, ETS reporting, site environmental reporting, and December 2025 Fleet List.

We've been awarded the Bronze Sustainability Rating by EcoVadis for our sustainability management system.
We are a Toitū carbon reduce certified organisation, meeting ISO 14064 standard and the Greenhouse Gas Protocol.
We support NZGBC with sustainable building practices. Our reporting has been accredited for Green Star projects.
