    Final Update: Working Fire: 1200 Block of Pleasant Street SE Cause of fire is accidental and electrical in nature stemming from the basement. No displacements as the home is vacant/renovation in progress. Units returning in service.

    Update: Working Fire: 1200 Block of Pleasant Street SE 2 story, single family home - fire in the basement with extension to both floors and in to the attic. All visible fire extinguished, working on hotspots. No injuries to report.

    On Sunday 7/5/26, Platoon 2 responded to 686 calls (high-volume day), including 514 EMS calls, 124 fire calls, and 48 other calls. In total, there were 1,286 emergency vehicle responses and 245 patient transports. #DCsBravest

    Yesterday #DCsBravest honored and remembered one of our fallen. On July 5 1931, Battalion Chief John H. Virnstein, Battalion 3, died in the Line of Duty when the roof of a church collapsed during a fire at 2564 Nichols Ave. S.E., Box 9545. Never Forget.
