Sonic's FIRST voice actor was a black man. Sonic's character literally has been a part of anti-Government Freedom Fighter organizations since the beginning If any franchise was ALREADY "woke", it would be Sonic.

TV shows used to be so goddamn serious about silly things like this, and honestly, it made tv exciting. You don't get "special event" episodes meant to draw in lapsed viewers anymore.

They may share the same assets, but when it comes to live appearances, how Super Sentai and Power Rangers approach using them is vastly different. One treats them as characters with certain movements and behaviors to embody. One treats them as another set of suits to wear.
