"Hate is a strong word, but I really really really don’t like Windows 11"
I regretted installing Win11 from the very start. It seemed slow, buggy, and lacked some Win10 features I liked and used. What, I can't put a taskbar where I like it (on the left side of the screen)? Why is File Explorer so slow? What is this annoying...
I've worked on Soulash, Blaze in Space, Sigilfarer, 11111Game, DeliSpace and some smaller, game jam games. In most of the cases, I've been responsible for anything 2D related, from UI, through in-game graphics, to marketing assets.
Currently, I'm finishing my first solo game - a Visual Novel called Enchantex. It's an urban fantasy queer dating chat-sim with visual novel elements. Play as a Wizard, Witch or Wix, pick your name, icon and hobbies, help customers in need and, of course, find love... Either on the AO4 webpage or near the lava cooler.
Those are Enchantex's main characters - Daemith, Tavish and Grimarasmius! They are my precious little babies.
While I often find the process of creating games more enjoyable than playing them... I have some games that are dear to me.
Well, there's no denying it, this title has definitively awakened something new in me. I owe this game a lot - my drawing skills rose sharply because of the numerous fanart I made, similarly with writing. I also met fantastic people from the fandom, created my first works for zines, and even acted as an art mod in one. This series inspired me to create my first proper cosplay.
I'm drawn to the games mainly because of the characters and stories, and both of these things Fire Emblem Three Houses did superbly. The lore of the world, multidimensional characters (with 2D portraits, for which I'm really grateful!), gripping music... Looking at the FE series as a whole, the gameplay might not be the best, but it's still my favorite one.
Another example of "mechanics of the later games are more fun, but this one wins because of the characters and their story". Who once met Kiryu and Majima simply won't forget them. What I love most about Yakuza is the combination of a serious storyline interspersed with comical side quests and mini-games. Some of the cutscenes are just masterfully directed - I consider this 15 minutes-long Majima introduction one my favorite scene in gaming history.
Once again - the world, the story, the characters. While Kara's part did not manage to grab my heart (it's hard for me to relate to the most of mother-daughter themes), I found Connor story extremaly engaging and thought-provoking, easily carrying on the whole experience.
The game, besides great story, music and visuals, has one additional thing which I absolutely love seeing in games - breaking the fourth wall in a right way - here, with the help of an assistant in the main menu that comments and questions player's choices.
I graduated with a degree in mechatronics engineering. Worked some time as a software engineer in the railway field (I like trains!), then switched to indie game development, where I earned my living as a 2D artist slash marketer. Weird turn of the events, you might think? That's not even my final form - I'm also a certified mortuary cosmetologist! If someone asks, it's not that I don't know what I want to do with myself, it's just that I am not afraid to pursue things that interest me. Obviously.
Ah, yes, I've also spent a whole year in Japan, wandering around and working in 6 different places. That was super fun. While we're at it, I enjoy travelling in general. Been to over 25 countries! I'd love to visit Antarctica one day.
What else? Well, I am queer. Yerba mate enjoyer. I consider myself a minimalist and I love everything about autumn, especially mushrooms, which I find fascinating! I also love when devs leave surprises hidden within their code. You can check out what I read, watch and play and also what hardware/software I use.
I love writing, so if you want to get to know me better, simply shoot me an email, even if only with silly meme.
