The U.S. Spends More On ‘Defense’ Than The Next 8 Countries Combined

May 3rd, 2026

Via: ZeroHedge:

For the first time on record, the top 15 military spenders allocated more than $2 trillion to defense in 2025.

Total global defense spending also reached a record $2.6 trillion, signaling a major shift in geopolitical priorities.

Using data from the International Institute for Strategic Studies, this visualization, via Visual Capitalist’s Dorothy Neufeld, ranks the 15 countries driving this surge in military spending.

While the U.S. still operates on an entirely different scale, the biggest shift is happening in Europe, where countries are no longer just maintaining military capacity but expanding it significantly.

The U.S. defense budget reached $921 billion in 2025, larger than the combined military spending of China, Russia, Germany, the UK, India, Saudi Arabia, France, and Japan.

Looking ahead, Donald Trump has proposed increasing defense spending to $1.5 trillion by 2027, although this plan has not been enacted. If realized, this would represent roughly 90% higher spending than the Cold War peak in real terms.

Trump Has UFO Speech Ready to Go…

April 30th, 2026

Via: Daily Mail:

President Donald Trump reportedly has a historic speech ready that could finally provide the world with UFO disclosure, according to a filmmaker.

Mark Christopher Lee, a UK-based writer, director, producer and ufologist, said ‘an advisor to the Trump administration’ told him that the president ‘has been given authority by the other major world leaders to make this announcement.’

The speech is said to reveal decades of evidence, recovered materials and credible military eyewitness accounts showing that some UFO incidents cannot be explained by any known human technology.

Lee told the Daily Mail that Trump’s remarks will highlight several high-profile cases, including the 2004 USS Nimitz Tic Tac encounter, the 2015 USS Roosevelt GoFast and Gimbal incidents and the 1947 Roswell event.

‘He will confirm that forensic analysis of recovered off-world vehicles and non-human biologics has established their extraterrestrial origin, marking the first official acknowledgment of this reality by any world leader,’ he added.

U.S. Debt Tops 100% of GDP

April 30th, 2026

Via: Wall Street Journal:

The U.S. national debt now exceeds 100% of gross domestic product, crossing a once-unthinkable threshold, on the way toward breaking the record set in the wake of World War II.

As of March 31, the country’s publicly held debt was $31.265 trillion, while GDP over the preceding year was $31.216 trillion, according to data released Thursday. That puts the ratio at 100.2%, compared with 99.5% when the last fiscal year ended Sept. 30. That figure will likely climb for the foreseeable future because the federal government is running historically large annual deficits of nearly 6% of GDP, which add to the debt.

The government is spending $1.33 for every dollar it collects in revenue, and the budget deficit this year is projected at $1.9 trillion.

Israel Tries Cope Cages Against Hezbollah’s Drones

April 30th, 2026

Via: The War Zone:

Over the course of a nearly two-month old war with Israel, Hezbollah has been increasing its use of fiber-optic controlled first-person view (FPV) drones against Israeli troops and vehicles, something we were among the first to note. Now, it appears that Israel is resorting to the use of anti-drone netting on its vehicles to help protect them from the one-way attack drones. These attacks are occurring even amid an ongoing, though extremely fragile, ceasefire.

A video emerged Wednesday on social media showing an Israeli vehicle festooned with the netting, draped like a soccer goal from metal arms extending out and above. The idea, as we have reported in the past, is that drones will get caught up in the nylon or mesh metal nets and become disabled, or the nets will help keep the drones far enough from the occupants before exploding to keep them from being killed.

More Than Two Thirds of Children Under Two Use Screens

April 29th, 2026

Via: Sky:

More than two-thirds of children under the age of two use screens – some watching devices for up to eight hours a day, researchers warned.

Despite recent government guidelines that parents should avoid screen time for kids under two, new research found that one in 10 babies now regularly fall asleep with a screen.

Almost a third of newborns watched screens for more than three hours a day, while nearly 20 per cent of infants aged four to 11 months watched screens for over an hour a day, a new study found.

Babies and toddlers under two are now using screens at levels that far exceed health advice, with experts warning this amount of device use could negatively impact how children develop.

Scientists say the basis of future health and brain development are laid down in the time from pregnancy to the age of two.

The researchers reviewed thousands of studies, finding growing evidence linking higher screen use in babies to poorer development.

These include increased risk of obesity and short-sightedness, sleep problems, behavioural difficulties, language delay and later, challenges forming friendships can develop.
