The problem with the Kia interment squeal was the tension nut not locked down. I took the Kia to a real mechanic to check my work and got a new ignition coil for a misfire in the engine. Cash cost $120.00. Overall I’m good with replacing the tensioner pulley and belt with the tools I had on hand. The mechanics cleaned the engine and I added ATP to seal the oil leak and I have not seen a new oil drop in the shop from the Kia. I have a bad O2 sensor diagnostic. Replacing the O2 sensor not hard but requires a bit of work that is not easy to do. Replacing the timing belts estimate includes replacing the water pump via this mechanic. $910.00 for the job seems about right and the Kia keeps on working. Big advantage of owning a paid off vehicle. You can save money for repairs/mainteence and not make car payments. Do some of the simple jobs and you save money.

I can’t see a monthly payment of a vehicle and insurance and mainteence on a $50,000-$100,000 car off the lot. Car insurance is high because a simple bumper hit kills cameras. and a simple bumper replacement costs $ thousands of dollars. Put cameras high on cars that point down. It gives the driver better perspective. Buy an old dumb car for cash and fix it up on your timetable. You will save on insurance cost, most lic. registration costs and as you fix up the vehicle you will know what you have as a vehicle.

I set up the greenhouse and it withstood the winds. The smaller cold frame sort of greenhouses took the wind. so overall it is a win for me. I have temp. gauge for the greenhouse for low temps. From what I have seen of the sun even the smaller cold frame/green houses should get plenty of sun. Sw Idaho did not get much snow/rain for irrigation. that is bad. Rain barrels will become important. April tends to be the rainy month, so get those barrels filled. While we me might not like the work a cup of water could keep a plant alive and thriving. Mulch heavy in your beds If you live in the west as water won’t be on demand. Farmers will get water first and your lawn will be last.

I stubbed my little toe hard. While I don’t think I broke it, it was painful walking around. I added after 3 days70% DSMO gel to my herbal pain cream and 50% reduction in pain. The injurie needs rest, elevation but DSMO seems to heal and relieve pain for an acute injury. I was slow adding DSMO because I did not think about it. DSMO is not a miracle cure. It heals overtime with many applications. It works for me, but you may have different results.

New keyboard, Ok not great. Old keyboard cleaned up. Chicken thighs/quarters, 20 pounds for $15 dollars. PC news.

Old keyboard cleaned up great and I like typing again. Okay, I suck at typing but dealing with 4i’s /n’s while typing is very annoying. I can spell, I just don’t type very well. When the keyboard works against me it is very annoying. My goodness it is so great to have a keyboard not add 4/5 letters and words come out closer to what I want to write. Distilled water is my new favorite PC cleaner. I think every PC owner should have a clean a PC plan.

Rubbing alcohol is great for cleaning off fan goo. If you use an air duster to clean. Hold the fan from spinning, as the fan can break via to much RPMs via the air duster. Use a Q-tip soaked in alcohol to clean the fan blades, then use a brush to clear the debris. I like an Automobile brush ,but a simple toothbrush does the job. Distilled water and Electronic cleaners have become my Favs, for cleaning Flat screen displays, and kindle display. Distilled water does a better job cleaning Flat screen displays compared to most screen cleaners.

Distilled water cost about $1.00- $1.50 per gallon so it is a very cheap cleaner for PC stuff. Distilled water does not have minerals for connectivity. Alcohol is great cleaner as it cuts through dirt and dries fast.. Distilled water cleans and provides no electronic short issues, as the distilled water has no metal issues to create a short. Yes. I cleaned the keyboard with distilled water and a brush in the sink. A few keys are still a bit wonky, but I’m happy the keyboard is working much better.

I think Microsoft, Nvidia and Sony want all gamers on a subscription. I think everyone should have a PC, old console or get into Linux and shout to game studios. We won’t accept the “slop”.The middle class can’t pay the price to get a game. Marathon should be free to play. If Bungie was smart it should have made Destiny 3, titan fall, not Marathon. AAA games need to ask WHY? Your games don’t sell? Gamers are happy to tell why a game sucks! Perhaps listen to real gamers?

Mom dropped off 20 pounds of chicken quarters that cost $15.00 . put in the freezer. You just buy food as you can. At times you get lucky.

Kia is getting better, Mom’s Birthday

It seems the little squeal from the belt is less on the Kia. I had Mom with me as I drove us to a birthday Lunch and Mom was listening to the Kia on the drive. Again I got a squeal at low engine RPM (idle/-1000 RPM) then no squeal after going above idle RPM/ 1500/2000 rpm on the tach. gauge. I’m thinking spraying “penetrating” oil on nuts of the pulleys is causing that belt slipring/squeal at low RPM. Today the belt squeal was less and seemed to go away quicker. That leads me to think the oil is the problem and not the other pulleys or the Alternator/starter. The Kia starts easy after I put the battery charger on for about 4 hours. So the Alternator is recharging the battery while I’m driving around. The starter does great starting the motor after the battery recharge.

I’m not an Auto mechanic, I do understand the basics, I’m adding tools for doing basic mainteence work. I don’t know that the Pulley s set correctly. I don’t know the belt is properly aligned. I’m working with Youtube vids. I’d love to have someone knowledgeable say (Don’t worry about the little squeal yes that penetrating oil was the problem. It will go away with time.) Or you replaced the belt and pulley and you have a squeal you need to replace… see a mechanic.

I’m not Dumb, I build PC’s and they are whole systems. Not just a CPU, GPU, memory, hard drives. There is speed, timing to get the max performance from the PC. You can spend money and throw parts at the problem. Or take some time and understand the problem. Will some one help me understand these car problems. LOL

Logic is a way to go wrong with confidence.

Mom’s 80th birthday was Feb 28 but we went out for a burger and taco salads. I had coupons for the meal. I don’t think most corporations understand most middle class are tapped out. Poor people aren’t getting free food stamps. In the USA , the middle class is tapped out. The middle class does not get food stamps, energy subsidies, rent control/ mortgage payment help The “middle class” makes to much money to need help with inflation costs.

We need a new government program to get Boomers to downsize out of homes. Boomers get a 2% mortgage if they down size to a 1200-1500 sq. ft home. From a 2400 sq. ft. home. No tax hit for any profit on the sale of the home. I have a great starter home for a young family and I can’t sell as rents are double my house payments. Trump is wrong there is no way to protect Boomer house prices and lower entry level houses. I’m almost 60 years old and my home has gone from $60,000 in value to $330,000 in value. It’s basically the same house. New roof, siding, updated windows. I can’t sell since I can’t upgrade at the same price or down grade and save money.

In some ways the deck is stacked against everyone. In some ways I can’t blame the players. I blame the game.

I have a new keyboard coming as Logitech 413 has gone mental for typing. I’ll try and clean it up but this keyboard is a chore.

Kia fixed?

I got out today and got the new belt on the Kia tensioned correctly. The belt was a loose on my first try on setting the tension.  I got a squeal after a longer time after getting the belt tension correct, but the Battery was run down for starting the van.  I put a battery charger on the Kia and  got no squeal for a few minutes.  My hope is  I repaired the Kia with a new belt and Tension pulley.  Next issue might be a bad alternator or A/C compressor. That work  takes  a real mechanic.

I  have a couple of short shopping trips to take the Kia  on as a  test drive.  Fred Meyer has a Ginger Ale I like  on sale and   Bi-Mart has the Green house shelves on sale $10.00 off.

I  learned a lot  about the Kia, used my floor jack and jack stands, gained some  confidence working on the Kia.  Bought a Torque  wrench and other tools for working on the van. Even if I did not fix the  problem with the Kia. I can tell the mechanic what has been done to fix a problem even if t does not fix the problem.

The e-trike has been great for small shopping trips. The new “slimed” tubes and tires have not lost much air, other than it is  cold. Air pressure expands/contracts depending on Air temp.  I have  adjusted  thee brakes a bit as I never had a disc brake on a  bike/trike before.  I have  added turn  signal lights and I need  to adjust the front light because of a basket.   Overall I’m  pleased  with the Mooncool E-350 trike.  I’d say I would  prefer a “Fat  Tire” trike with  better cargo if  I could  afford it. There  is  a big difference between $ 700.00 and $1200.00 on a trike. Check  your local  laws .  E-bikes/trikes are getting legally  redefined.

High PC part prices and silver.

PC’s  and PC parts have  been expensive in the past. The 90’s era of  buying a PC or parts was very expensive considering inflation at the time. $2,000 dollars + was normal for a new desktop/laptop PC. That was a lot of money back in the day.  Which is why people started building PCs . I splurged on a 5 gb hard drive that  I would never fill in 1995. LOL

I built mid-range type PCs and tweaked the performance up to a higher end pc. You don’t need a high end PC to play most games or do most work on a PC. Of course some people do need cutting edge graphics/ high end CPUs.  That is not most gamers or most people. I’d recommend most people stay with the pc hardware the already have on hand.

Now I beat some of the rising cost of  PC hardware. I went back to DDR4/AMD 4 to update 2 pcs and  build a new PC.  I  was surprised an AMD 4 motherboard jumped almost $50.00 in  price in less than 2 months. The  PC parts  bought in Dec. 2025 are now  $350.00 more expensive in Feb.2026 and this older generation pc parts. DDR4/AMD 4 came out in 2014.  This is  not  cutting edge PC hardware.  I have used an older AM3 /DDR3 Pc that did a great job playing Fortnite at 120 FPS+. You might not get all  of  the “eye  candy” using older tech. For  most people even an  older  AMD/Intel Cpu system is okay for most  games/jobs.

Junk silver is “relatively” cheap  again. 90% USA pre 1964 silver  has no premium cost at JM Bullion. I suspect everyone sold  any/every bit of silver when it was up in price. Now there is a glut of 90% pre-1964 silver because most refineries  are maxed out. I like pre-64 US  coin as people see it as silver and  outside of the “paper  paradigm”.  I doubt many  people want split gold/ silver eagles.  But Pre 1964 dimes, quarters, half  dollars don’t need to be split.

I would  look for folks/businesses that  accept  silver/gold payments. But I would always pay cash unless got a  silver discount.  Good to know some people that understand value.

I’m a bit behind getting the Kia  up and working. I have to tension the belt. But  have a bad feeling the  alternator  is going bad.  Well stuff happens and I wanted to replace the timing belt .It’s not like I’m  replacing an engine. My little E-trike  is functional for shopping. At worst  I’ll rent a car/pickup for a day. No reason to get all worked  up about easy to solve problems.

Still working on the Kia and the trike

I bought a Tensioner pulley for the Kia as I still have the squeal from that part of the engine. The pulley is installed and there is an occasional squeak but the belt is loose. I have to tighten up the belt and that will either fix the problem or I need to get the car to a real mechanic to replace the Alternator/other part.

I have added to my knowledge working on this car problem. A few more tools I needed like the Torque wrench. Practiced jacking up the Kia and learning I need my tire guys to back off the torque on my tires if I hope to change a flat after a blow out. Thank goodness for helpful neighbors that can turn overly tight lug nuts.

I sort of messed up on of the fenders of my trike. It’s a cheap China  E-trike but I think the frame and motor are a good base to  build on. Walmart has after market fenders that should fit the trike. The fenders are black but they should look okay with the original purple paint job. The original fenders always rattled, and let’s face it, seemed cheap.  It’s a bit like adding after market parts to car to slowly improve it’s performance.

For now I have removed the back wheel fenders. That alone removed much of the metal rattling noise of the trike.  I found  replacement fenders at Walmart I can afford in the future.  I re-mounted a brake/signal light on the back  of the trike. The front  light needs more work. Overall the trike has been a great backup for the minivan.

I live in a unique place.  A small city in Idaho with plenty of  shopping within  a five mile radius.  I can get free deliveries of items in a day or two. That is not possible for some people. In some way, it can be easier to hide in a larger city and blend  in. Building networks/neighborhoods of helping each other is critical. Gardens are not political, helping a neighbor dg a ditch isn’t political. One neighbor put up  a lending library. The fly a rainbow flag and I added Robert Heinlein to the Library. While I may not  agree with their politics, they are  improving their home. They have kids that play and I watch out for any  bad actors.

I know I would like a little bad “Karma” strike what I consider bad actors. I’m sure the left/progressive types  feel the same  about me. But in the day to day life. I want the neighborhood kids safe regardless of the politics of the parents.  I want to have BBQ’s, block parties, people sharing  seeds and tomatoes and zucchini bread recipes. I know it  can be tough to reach out as you  expose your self a little bit. But  have you felt insulted by a neighbor  introducing themselves?  We often worry so much about intruding we don’t make  human connections. I  make this mistake often. I need to drop off at least a card as a sort of  “Welcome Wagon”  to new neighbors. I’m sure many people would love to know a good café, mechanic, electrician, vet, doctor, landscaper….When they  move in. Everyone needs to build relationships as that is human.

We are more connected via the internet to the world but we are more disconnected  from neighbors and what is happening locally. We expound about  what happens in D.C and don’t know what happens in  local  schools.  We pontificate about Ukraine/Russia and have  no clue about AI or what Congress is doing.

I  know trying to keep track of the rascals’  in congress is a fulltime job. Hell I’m retired and I can’t  keep up with all the shenanigans. I’d say common sense to politics. But  “Common Sense” is not that common. I’m reading Mark Twain from  the 1870’s. I have read Will Rogers from the 1920-1930’s and the  USA Congress is the same if the Vitriol is amped up.

Technology may change. People  don’t change that is why history repeats/rhymes.  Read history/books  like Mark Twain, Will Rodgers, Uncles Tom’s Cabin and not the “Cliff Notes” version. Uncle Tom’s  Cabin has multiple stories of slavery in the North and South, some people went to Canada . Uncle Tom was a hero, almost messianic in his sacrifice.  Please read the book before you slur someone as an “Uncle Tom”.

Abolitionist, that  wanted to  free  the slaves but would never share  a meal with them. We see it  again  with the Democrats that want cheap labor via illegals’  but they  will never have them live next-door to them.

Sorry  went off on a bit of a tangent. Hypocrisy is a part of the human condition.  But I prefer it to to be less blatant.

Still working on the Kia, more E-bike shopping and silver!

The belt on the Kia had a lot of cracks so I got a new belt $18.00. The folks at AutoZone are getting used to me coming in for parts. Nice people and helpful. I got a serpentine belt diagram printed out for the Kia with my belt purchase. I created a bit of anxiety for myself stressing about replacing the belt. It is like gaining confidence using a new tool. It is a little scary at first, then it becomes easy as you get more confident. I’m not stressing about not having a car as the E-trike is doing a great job as a backup vehicle.

My Mooncool 350 is about the cheapest E-trike you can buy. Walmart offers the Mooncool 350 trike for $699.00 online. That s about the same price I paid a couple of years ago. I would recommend your budget for an E-Trike be $1000-$1200.00 to get better cargo capacity and more comfortable ride. But I love the Mooncool 350 after upgrading the tubes/tires. I drive the E-trike around at 15 mph in the city and in some traffic conditions the trike is as fast s driving a car, though cargo capacity s limited. I make more trips with the trike compare to the car, but that isn’t a problem if you plan your shopping. I would recommend insulated bags, coolers and ice packs because of travel time. That travel time of an E-bike/trike might be less then you think. In my city some streets are designated Bike routes. You can bypass the worst of the traffic. Bikes and Trikes have aa legal term called an Idaho Stop. Bikes and trikes must yield but are not required to stop at stop signs. Bikes and trikes are required to stop at red stop lights but can proceed if traffic is clear regardless of the traffic light .Check your local laws for e-bikes/trikes. Some places treat them like motorcycles. Bike/ walking trails have some rules about e-bike/trike use on trails. If your E-bike/trike is rated under 20 mph and you can signal via bell/horn. You are okay. But always comes down to “Don’t be an asshole” riding your e-bike/trike.

I’m sure some people are freaking out about silver prices. I was surprised how fast jumped up. That was not normal. If you have buying silver/stacking. Nothing has changed. Whatever oz. you have stacked are still stacked. No mice nibbled away your silver oz. I’d say for all the folks that thought they missed the move to silver when it $120.00 per oz. try and buy silver at under $80.00 per oz.

Many people think they missed the sliver move. Paper price at $80.00 and physical silver close to spot is where you buy in. The DOW is approaching 50,000 and no one thinks the Stock market is a bubble?

Working on the Kia and shopping with the E-trike

I figured out the Kia noise. The tensioner pulley nut fell off somewhere and just the belt was keeping the pulley in place. Getting the replacement nut is almost impossible as it isn’t a specific Kia part. I’m anal-retentive and want a specific part/nut for the pulley. I don’t want a serpentine belt to go flying off at random. I got a nut that fits but I’m waiting on a torque wrench so I can be sure everything is fixed to Kia Specs. Also the serpentine belt on my Kia is next to the Passenger side tire, just like the oil filter. So I have to remove the tire and some splash guards to get at the belt. If you buy an older Kia Sedona go for the 2005 model. At least the oil filter is on top of the engine. I have to say the Kia-forums are good about giving working info on older Kias.

SW Idaho has been having almost Spring like weather. With the Kia down, I got the Trike out for shopping. The tires needed some air with the temp changes. After “Slimming” the trike tires, all tires had air despite the changing temps this winter. So I had a very nice ride to the local Bi-mart and picked up a cross between a cold frame and a mini-greenhouse. I bought a couple of large metric sockets I needed for the Kia. I forgot how nice/fun it can be to ride the trike in the fresh air. I replaced the tires/innertubes from the cheap China crap. Trust me if you push an 80 pound trike for a mile + because of flat. You will love knowing your tires are reliable after replacement and giving the tires the “slime” treatment. All of the shopping went great including my run to get some pico de gallo and tacos at a local shop. Thermal/insulated bags are a must if you are using a trike because of travel time.

I will say the cheap/ECO Mooncool trike would benefit with some upgrades. But it was a low end eco model. I’m happy with the trike after the tire/inner tube/Slime upgrade. The cargo basket is not that great but you can fix that overtime. I think some preppers underestimate how being close to shopping can be a good thing.

If you have a homestead in the middle of nowhere. You are not close to anything. You probably can’t make everything you want or need, and storage space is a problem. Villages, neighborhoods, Mutual Aid Societies grew because people saw a need and filled it. A baker makes bread and makes yeast as a sideline and makes beer then opens a n Inn or brewery. It is simple but easy. People think Simple and Easy are the same. It is simple to cut wood. Cutting wood is hard work. .

Banking a fire. You aren’t really banking a fire. You are banking coals. Move all the coals to one side of the stove and then cover coals with ash in the stove. It does not matter if you cover with red coals. My wood stove has been cold to the touch and the buried coals started a fire. I’m not using my firestarters, a bit of kindling and some spilt fire wood. I did not believe that banking coals made fire starting so easy. The coals stays warm overnight.

Winter Storms

Winter Storms don’t get the attention that Hurricanes get as Winter is just a season and snow falls.  Winter cold is no joke and with many Utilities overwhelmed by day to day use the cold of a storm can be deadly.  The key s to prepare ahead of the storm.

  1. Prep is be aware of the weather. Most storms take time to develop and many will fizzle out but when a big storm happens have a plan in place that starts 5-7 days before the storm hits.
  2. Clean your house. Do the laundry early, vacuum/sweep/mop floors, dust do the dishes and empty the garbage cans. Anything you get cleaned ahead of time will reduce stress.
  3. Get your shopping done and buy your regular shopping list items. This is not the time to try new foods unless all you eat is microwave  food or use Door dash. You are prepping before the storm so try out a bread recipe. A small butane burner will safely boil water indoors for pasta and heat up a pan of pasta sauce, a can of soup or stew. It will boil water for tea or fill  a French press for coffee. The gas/charcoal  grill will cook meat/veggies if it  is cold outside. If you have fuel  for the grills.
  4. Keeping food cold: This is easy now. A cooler  or even a cardboard box set outdoors will keep your food cold. Keeping food from freezing might be more of a problem. Keep your fridge and freezers doors indoor shut as much as possible. Freeze blocks of ice outdoors and add to cool your fridge or freezer. Overall I’d avoid powering a freezer/fridge indoors f you can freeze blocks of ice or use cold weather outdoors to keep food cold.
  5. Staying warm: I’m a big fan of  woodstoves and wood heat, but it is not a cheap option for most people. Mr. Buddy heaters work great, are relatively cheap and a relatively safe heating option for most people.  I tested out the Mr. Buddy heaters before I got my wood stove and the Mr. Buddy heater heated my  1200 sq. foot  home from 50 degrees F. to 68  degrees  F.  using a fan when the outdoor temp. was 19 degrees F.  A 1 pound tank would last about a day.  A 5  pound BBQ grill tank would last  5-7 days depending on the cold. I never ran the Mr. Buddy  heater overnight, only during  the day when I could supervise the heater.
  6. Water and water pipes. Open your cabinet doors so any heat can reach the pipes  under the sinks. Open a faucet to a  slow drip. Moving water  does  not freeze  easily.  If you aren’t sure about  your water supply clean and fill  your  tub.  That should hold 30-50 gallons  of water. I like filling up Igloo type water jugs with very hot water  24 hours  before the storm hits.  You will have hot water on hand for cooking and cleaning with little effort  for 24-48 hours in  those  jugs .  Pre-heat the jugs with a gallon  of boiling water for 15-20 minutes. Don’t  depend on snow for your water supply.
  7. Charge up your electronics and battery  banks. Even small battery banks can have a big impact keeping  a phone charged in an emergency. Check batteries in radios/flashlights Make sure your car will start when it is cold and have the vehicle full of fuel. Have extra fuel and oils on hand for generator. Use good quality extension cords if you use a generator.
  8. Don’t be stupid: This  should be easy but  some people  will get cold and  run a gas grill indoors to stay warm. Or bring  generator  in a home because filling gas and oil outside is  unpleasant. You don’t want to die because you are  a lazy  idiot. Yes, the cold sucks dying to it sucks more.

Treat a winter storm  as serious. Get your ice melt and  sand early, it won’t spoil. Get out your notebook and write the things you wish you had on hand before the storm and get those things.

Adding more beef when cheap and silver is getting a bit crazy.

With beef prices up because supply is limited. I have been focused on freezing beef for the future. I’d love to buy a 1/4-1/2 beef locally but my budget won’t allow that investment at this time.  I got some good buys during the Holidays for Rib eye roasts and steaks to put in the freezer for the year. I’ll grab a few beef steaks and roast on sale through the year. This Beef (shortage) has happened in the past and I stocked up on pork/chicken. At that time even getting hamburger seemed to be a treat. In the grocery stores I visit $6.00 per pound seems be the “best price”. If you have a choice, buy roasts and cut your own steaks or grind your  own burger if the local butcher won’t grind the beef. I don’t really trust tube hamburger that these days. 

I know groceries are expensive. I focus on spices and frozen veggies for stir fry, soups and stews and pasta meals that stretch the meat part of the menu. A roasted chicken can be used for stock or the meat added to ramen, pasta for a meal that is more filling over a few days.  Today I had some beef stew from a large chuck roast that I cut a couple of small steaks and roasted for stew meat. Beef roast seem to    provide the most bang for your buck. 

Many preppers bought silver for years as a hedge/replacement currency to the US dollar.  The silver spot price is going crazy. What I’m  doing is holding onto most my silver. I have some junk silver that I’m holding just in case the Dollar tanks and inflation skyrockets. I’m  seeing crazy silver oz. price into 3-4 digits and the people saying  those numbers are not  just youtuber clickbait/speculators.  I’d say hold  and not get caught up in the hype!  Remember the reason why you started stacking silver. Insurance against an inflating dollar. To buy real assets like paying off your mortgage or buying other income  producing real estate. Hopefully you already have a good stockpile of food. Fuel/energy like a woodstove and firewood for a couple of normal winters already on hand. A canner, a garden, a vacuum sealer and a freezer. Tools, oil, gas cans, a generator, a Solar paneled powered battery bank.  At least a battery bank that  can be recharged via an outlet or gas generator.  A butane cooker/hot plate and a few cans for cooking indoors. I have a good charcoal/gas grill set up on the patio but I want to cook in my warm house in winter.

If you have not been prepping. You need to prioritize. Water, food, safety/protection.  Don’t speculate on get rich schemes. If you can eat, if you have water, if you have heat in winter and cooling in summer on  hand. You are ahead of most people. 

Mom took a fall into an irrigation ditch close to her woodpile. Mom is okay she got a little “road rash” type skin abrasions. Mom will be 80 years old next month and while I think she is competent to live her life. I worry if she takes a bad fall. Mom has a stiff knee because of a less than optimal knee replacement surgery. So she can get unbalanced. 

We are on Consumer Cellular and they have a “Life Alert” fall protection/push the button for Emergency service. I added myself, my aunt and to the first to call and Mom can request Emergency Service if needed. I’m not sure of the cost per month at this time but  $23-29.00 seems to be the range. 

“I’ve  fallen and I can’t get up” is a meme until you live  it. When it happens to you it is scary. I’ve been  there and done that  without any backup. 

Mom took a little header last week with her wood pile adjusting tarps and she  fell in the irrigation ditch. Mom is okay! I moved Mom’s woodpile away from the ditch so she has a little walkway to the older   wood and restacked the wood away  from the concrete ditch. Mom is taking  a fall prevention/balance class in her town. It is tough to admit you are vulnerable as you get older or become disable.

Find work arounds and keep living life! You don’t need that rocking chair yet.
