Sherwood Pines Cycling Club

Welcome to Sherwood Pines Cycling Club (SPCC). We are based in Sherwood Forest, Nottinghamshire in the heart of the East Midlands.

We are a British Cycling affiliated, predominantly off-road cycling club that put on weekly rides in and around Sherwood Forest / Sherwood Pines and the surrounding areas. Our rides cater for riders from beginners through to those who are more experienced and enjoy faster, longer rides. It doesn’t matter what you ride, single-speed, hardtail, e-bike, gravel, full suspension, mullet or whatever.

Sherwood Forest and its surrounding area have miles of singletrack, double track, bridleways, and quiet roads as well as the managed bike trail network at Sherwood Pines Forest Park. We enjoy exploring new places, riding in all weather conditions and welcoming new riders in a friendly, inclusive, and supportive environment.

Our volunteer ride leaders have an extraordinary knowledge of the local area and put on rides ranging from 5 to over 50 miles, over a mix of cross-country terrain that is hard to match anywhere else in the UK. Our volunteer ride leaders have many years of experience in leading groups, and we do our best to ensure that at least one of our ride leaders on a ride has a 2-day outdoor emergency first aid qualification.

Our mantra is that “No one gets left behind” and we pride ourselves in no matter who comes out for a ride, we tailor the ride to the needs of the group and ensure that everyone within the group is supported.

Alongside our weekly local rides, we also have away days visiting different trail centres such as Cannock Chase, Dalby Forest and Llandegla Forest and exploring the challenging natural terrain, trails, and bridleways of the Peak District National Park. We have a number of riders who enjoy competing in Enduro and Downhill events and we visit various bike parks across the UK to hone our skills to provide that adrenaline rush.
