Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Terminator Squad

•May 6, 2012 • Leave a Comment

After a looooong hiatus, I am back!

The box art…

I guess this is the final jigsaw in building a balance ultramarines army.  This box set comes with 4 terminators and 1 terminator sergeant model.

Such hulking madness…

This is the sergeant with power sword. I did away with the flag as its kinda silly.

Standard terminator with storm bolter (combination of 2 bolters) and power fist:Image

According to the Codex, 1 out of 5 terminators may choose either a heavy flamer, missile launcher or assault cannon.  This terminator selected the assault cannon. I painted it to look well-worn:

Look at the difference between a Terminator and a standard space marine:

My Ultramarines army…. hope that it is more well-balanced now:

Maybe an assault squad next?

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Vindicator

Another much needed addition to my Ultramarines army….

The box art…

The Vindicator boasts a lethal  strength 10 Demolisher Cannon. With its dozer blade, a player can re-roll a Difficult terrain test.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Tactical Squad

It is said that a tactical squad is the backbone of a space marine army.

The 10 man squad is primarily armed with bolters but you have a choice to take along 2 heavy weapons.

This is my first HQ unit, and my army is now a GO!

This kit gives u lots of options with a variety of war gear to choose from.

This unit sports the bolter and the relic sword. I used lots of gold to resemble a Roman army general…

For the Imperium!

Overall a satisfying build.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Dreadnought

•December 5, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I decided not to get the Assault Squad as they may not complement my current army, which focuses on long range firepower. So after consulting my local hobby store, i turned my attention to the Dreadnought which dishes out impressive long range firepower. It also has close range weapons options to deal with enemy troops that manage to break through my screen of firepower.

The box art…

Ultra Marines Dreadnought with the Assault Cannon and Dreadnought close combat weapon (with built in heavy flamer) – Total 125 points:

I dry-brushed the autocannon and the heavy flamer… making it looks really old and rusty…

I now have a 500+ points army.

Next up shall definitely be a HQ unit. Definitely.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Predator

•November 6, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Finally a Predator to lend some heavy support to the ground troops.  Its basically a suped-up Rhino to perform the anti-vehicle/personnel role.

The box art…

Image

I decided that my Predator’s primary weapon will be the autocannon. The side sponsons will feature lascannons to deal with enemy heavy armour. Finally, I opt for the storm bolter instead of a hunter killer missile.

The turret and sponsons can swivel or you can just glue it fix in one position.

Image

The rear ramp can be lowered to expose the interior of the Predator… really cool…

However this feature is merely superficial as Predators do not have transport capacity.

My Ultramarines army now stands at 454 points ^^

Next up should be a HQ unit or Assault Space Marines. Time will tell ^^

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Scouts with Sniper Rifles

•October 2, 2010 • Leave a Comment

Space Marine Scouts form the 10th company of a Space Marine Chapter, and they represent the future of their Chapter. A scout has much to learn before he is found worthy to be elevated to full battle brother status.

The biggest headache in this kit is the painting of human faces. I am amazed at the painted faces as shown in the box art.

Image

There are parts for 1 Scout Sergeant and 4 Scouts. Weapons include 5 sniper rifles (free) and 1 missile launcher (+10 points).

The Scout Sergeant:

Scout no.5 with missile launcher:

5 scouts (75 points) + 4 sniper rifle (free) + 1 missle launcher (10 points) + 3 camo cloaks (9 points) = 94 points

Image

My current Ultramarines army totals 324 points ^^ hope my calculation is correct…

Image

Hopefully the next addition will be a Predator to represent some form of heavy armoury.

Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine Land Speeder

•September 4, 2010 • Leave a Comment

This is my 3rd Citadel kit and the biggest one to tackle to date.

Before assembly, i had an option to either built a Land Speeder Tornado or Land Speeder Typhoon. I picked the latter as Typhoon missile launcher carries both Frag and Krag grenades, enabling the Land Speeder to engage both armoured vehicles and lightly armoured infrantry.

The model comes with a clear base and stand.

The box art…

Image

According to the codex, a Land Speeder Typhoon costs 90 points. The heavy bolter is a standard wargear and costs no extra points. You do have a choice to change it with a heavy flamer or a multi melta.

Image

Image

Image

The undercarriage… i had it painted black and left it at that.

Rear view…

My current Ultramarines army: Attack Bike with multi-melta (50 points) + Land Speeder Typhoon (90 points)  + Tactical squad (90 points) = 230 points

Guess what’s next?

Warhammer 40,000 : Space Marine Attack Bike

•June 11, 2010 • Leave a Comment

I was torn between this kit and the Dreadnought, but in the end opted for the bike as its lighter on my pocket ^^

The box art…

Image

The kit has two runners, each separately containing parts for an attack bike and the seat for the second space marine.

Image

Image

The kit contains parts for 2 types of weapons, i.e. boltgun + ammunition feed or a multi-melta. My miniature is sporting the latter.

Image

Combining parts from both runners will give u a proper space marine attack bike.
