Repost- Mega Post- Chandamama [Hindi] magazine Collection [Year 1949 to 2006] 651 magazines free download Links {Links updated}

Hi everyone,

Hope everyone is healthy and happy. After yesterday’s setback where I had to delete all comics of Raj, Manoj, Diamond, King and Pawan comics I am back with a new post and a new collection. Although I won’t be uploading comics of those above mentioned publications, but still there are so many comics and publication to be shared with you, which I’ll try to provide here from time to time.

Today I’ve brough you all this massive collection of Chandamama Comics and Magazine. Before I move ahead let me give you all a little information about this iconic magazine.

It was started by B. Nagi Reddy and Chakrapani in year 1947 [The year our country got independence], originally in Telugu language and mostly included mythological educational stories. The parents liked buying these magazines to their children which used to teach them moral values, Its popularity increased rapidly and in year 1949 the magazine also started its Hindi Edition for broader readership. The magazine was highly appreciated for its mythological stories, and some really amazing art works. At its prime it used to publish in 12 different languages, and one special thing you should know that this was probably the only magazine which used to Publish a Sanskrit edition too, which continued till 2012 [As per magazines in my collection].

In year 2007 the publication was bought by Geodesic, a mumbai based software service provider for approx 10 crores. They wanted to take the 60 years of magazine into digital era, they also announced that all the previous editions will be shortly made available online. However the company got into legal troubles due to default in Bank loans and as of now is closed and is in liquidation process. The Magazine stopped being published from March 2013 without any press release or notification, and later in July 2013 the official website also went down.

There is no current update on the status of magazine if it would ever start publishing again.

Here for all the lovers of this iconic magazine I’ve brough the biggest collection of its Hindi publication. I’ve collected these magazines from different portals and websites and am posting at one place.

In this post I am sharing with you all total 651 Hindi Chandamama magazines.

Mega Post- ‘Bal Bharti’ children Magazine- Download links for Issues printed from 1948 to 1954

Hi,

Image

After being missing from the blogging for approximately 7 years, I am back and hope to continue this journey ahead. It has been long but seeing your messages and comments have motivated me to restart this work of preserving and sharing old comics / magazines etc and sharing them with all so that future generation can know about these and enjoy these simple but beautiful creations.

Today I am present here with some initial issues of Bal Bharti Magazines which are being printed by Publication division of Government of India since 1948 continuously. It was intended to be an educational movement that blended enjoyment, culture, and education rather than just a children’s magazine. The journal, which was mainly intended for young readers between the ages of 6 and 14, included poetry, short stories, riddles, folktales, and drawings to foster a love of reading, morals, and imagination. The first few years were particularly important since they reflected India’s transition to democracy. The articles’ topics included unity, patriotism, traditional knowledge, and scientific curiosity, all of which were intended to mold the citizens of tomorrow.

The magazine continues to set the standard for children’s publishing in India even after several decades.  It fostered a sense of shared cultural identity, the stories frequently referenced Indian epics, folktales, and local customs. At a time when the recently established country was forming its linguistic identity, it was essential in fostering the Hindi language in young readers. Its stories softly but effectively taught lessons about courage, empathy, honesty, and responsibility.

Below I am providing year wise download links of Bal Bharti Magazines printed from 1948 to 1954. Download these read, enjoy and share with your friends family and specially children.

And before I move ahead and provide you all these links let me clarify that these are not my scans. It has been scanned by Publication division of Government of India and are available at their website. I’ve just collected it and shared it here for ease of availability. I’ll also request you to check out their website and you’ll find some other awesome content too.

Write Up: 2 Legendry Artists and their journey together (Write up by Hemendra bhai)

By Hemendra Bhai

*****************************

Separated by backgrounds, united by art!!

Two artists with immense talent, probably would never have imagined that they will cross each other’s paths more than once in their careers! It all began on a chilly morning of december 1971, when Lotpot, under editorship of mr. A P Bajaj and mr. Kripashankar Bhardwaj, decided to include some new artists in the magazine. Pranji, at the time, was working for different publications like Milaap and Dinmaan and Shehaabji was working for children magazine Parag. The winter of 1971-72 greeted the Lotpot readers with two new characters- Deepu and Manglu Madari, and with them, the two legendary artists Pranji and Shehabji entered Lotpot! Deepu was Pranji’s first character for Lotpot, which came much before Chacha Chaudhary, and Shehabji introduced Manglu Madari and Baudam kaka in Lotpot. These two huge artists entered Lotpot at the same time and continued drawing for lotpot for some time to come. But the story does’nt end here; they were to cross each other’s path again soon..

Ever since the children magazine Parag was founded in 1958, Shehabji had been connected with the magazine through his two-page Chhotu Lambu comic strips. 1973 was an important year for parag, when mr Anand Prakash jain left the editorship of parag, and the editorship was taken by Kanhaiyalal Nandan ji. It was the time when Madhu muskan had already started publication and was giving a tough time to other children magzines, because of its increased number of panelled cartoon stories per issue. Lotpot’s Chacha Chaudhary, which was introduced in 1972, was gaining popularity day-by-day alongwith Motu Patlu. Champak had Cheeku and Pintu aur Moti to boast of! More panelled cartoons in children magazines, was the demand of the day. Kanhaiyalal ji decided to introduce another panelled cartoon character, alongwith chhotu lambu, in Parag. Entered Billoo!!Kanhaiyalalji must have known and seen Pranji’s work since his Dinman and Dharmayug days (Kanhaiyalalji was the editor of Dinman and asst editor of Dharmayug). Pranji created Billoo for Parag and Pranji and Shehabji worked for a common publication again! But this was not all; Fate had another coincidence in store for them…

By 1979, Chacha chaudhary of Lotpot had become extremely popular. A new comic publication was taking shape, and Chacha chaudhary took no time in becoming a part of this publication. This was the Diamond comics publication, which introduced the first full fledged comic of Chacha chaudhary in its 23rd issue- Chacha chaudhary antrix mein- after which, there was no looking back!! About 4 years later, in the latter half of 1984, diamond comics started featuring full page ads announcing the arrival of Chhotu lambu in diamond comics! Chhotu lambu entered diamond comic publication, with the comic Chhotu lamboo aur heera. Again, Pranji and Shahabji were working for the same publication!

At the time when comic market was flooded with a variety of children magazines, it was a miracle that two great artists got a chance for sharing common publication, not once, or twice, but thrice in their artistic career! Their art styles were different, their characters had different appeals, but their destinies brought them together again and again, to create magic in the comic world..

Write Up: Vishwanath Ji- A pioneer of Hindi and Children Magazine world (written by Hemendra Singh)

Today is the death anniversary of Vishwanath ji, the owner of Delhi press which published popular magazines like Sarita, Grihshobha and children magazines Champak and Suman Saurabh. Vishwanath ji was basically a chartered accountant. He established Delhi press in 1939, which started publishing magazine Caravan. He wanted to bring out a low cost hindi magazine with simple stories. At that time, the most popular hindi magazine in North India was Maya. Saraswati magazine was also there. Delhi press started publishing Sarita from 1945, which had stories on different topics in simple, easy to understand hindi. Due to these qualities, Sarita soon became popular. Despite its low cost, vishwanath ji ensured that Sarita never compromised on quality of stories. Writers were given payment as high as rs 75 per story for Sarita, which was a big amount for hindi writers at that time. In 1969, Delhi press came out with a children’s magazine Champak. Vishwanath ji was against superstition. So, many times anti superstition issues of Sarita and champak were published. Due to this principle, there was a conscious attempt not to publish ‘pari kathaayein’ or stories on magic in champak. This strategy gave an advantage to champak’s main competitor Nandan, which used to publish magical stories quite often. However, this did not effect the popularity of champak much! In November and December 1983 Sarita, an article of writer Jyotirmoy was published in Sarita. As per rules of that time, the copies of Sarita were sent to press officer for approval. The officer found the articles objectionable and lodged a criminal case against Vishwanath ji and Jyotirmoy. However the copies of those Sarita issues were not seized and the issues came in market. The case, lodged in 1984, was finally decided in 2005 and the court found all criminal charges baseless and aquitted the accused. However, Vishwanath ji died during the pendency of the case in 2002!! His children magazine champak lives on to celebrate its 50th anniversary this year!!

Started in 1980 chandamama Classics and Comics used to publish stories and comics of Walt Disney characters like Mickey mouse, Donald duck, Zorro etc. Say whatever you all say but every kid of the 1980s and 90s will accept that Disney characters were a big part of us while growing up, then it might be Mickey Mouse or Donal Duck or Aladdin but we did liked them a lot. After initial publication of some of Disney characters comics in Indrajal comics Chandamama Classics and comics started publishing these and used to bring one new comics in each 15 days resulting in total 24 comics in a year. As per my information this series of ‘Chandamama Classics and Comics’ was operational for 4 years as i have found comics of up to 4th year only till now.

Here I am posting 10 of those comics. Although It used to be published in both English and Hindi, but I have only few of the Hindi versions in my collection and trying to get my hand on some more to upload here, till then you all have to be content with the English versions being uploaded today.

This is probably the biggest collection fo Chandamama classics and comics being posted at one place as per my knowledge as this is one of the least scanned or preserved comics as per my info and till now I had seen only few of these uploaded online.

Please click on the name of the comics below to download. All the comics are in PDF format for better reading experience in your PC/Laptop as well as your handheld devices.

Gotham Comics- 17 Hindi Gotham comics free download links

Hello all,

This is a special post and dedicated to a friend whose birthday is falling today on 2nd October. I’d planned something else few months ago to celebrate the birthday but seeing as I am not able to execute that plan and couldn’t meet to celebrate the birthday, this is something I am doing so that i can ask for the forgiveness in future when and if we meet.Gotham comics Hindi

So, lets talk about today’s post. I am sure most of you would have heard about Gotham comics, it started publishing in India in 1998 and during the mid 2000s it became quite active and popular between indian readers. One unique thing about Gotham comics was it has taken rights of most of the leading comics publishers like DC, Marvel, Dark Horse, MAD to be published in India under one name of Gotham comics. It published many comics in English as well as in Hindi, Bangla, Tamil too. Although It many published comics in English language still it attempted some comics of leading characters like Batman, Spiderman, Superman in Hindi too to increase it reach between Hindi reading audiences. Although I think it didn’t succeed in this endeavour as only few numbers of HIndi comics were published by Gotham comics.

Today I’ve brough you all 17 of these Hindi comics which were published by Gotham comics. Till now only few number of these comics have been available online, I am happy that I am able to increase the no. of available Hindi Gotham comics in double digits.

With this post, presently this blog contains most no. of Hindi Gotham comics available at one place.

Not all of these comics are scanned by Me. I’ve originally scanned 11 of these, 3 I’ve found from the Anupam Agrawal bhai’s blog, and remaining 3 I’ve found while searching these internet [Don’t remember exact website/blog name]. So the credit also goes to other scanners too for preserving these gems.

All these comics are in PDF format for better reading experience on your laptop/PC as well as your hand-held devices.

Ibne Safi Special- 4 more Jasoosi Duniya Novels download links for free

Hi all,

This post has been ready since last 15 days but couldn’t get the time to post it here. Some time i go away from blogging for too long that my loved ones start asking me question that why I am not blogging these days. One of those very close and dear friend though that I am not blogging because of some interaction between us [We fought] and has been continuously asking if I’ve been not writing because of that, so I wish to make it very clear that It is not because of our fight or interaction, it is only because of my laziness that I haven’t been able to post stuff here.

Ok now that matter is clear now lets move to this post. As you all might know from my earlier posts Ibne safi is one of the most favorite writer of mine and I’ve been trying to collect his novels since I first time came in touch with his work in 2011-12. Since then I’ve been able to collect many novels to read and have also got help from few friends who have shared their books with me to scan and preserve them digitally. Till now I’ve already uploaded 14 Ibne Safi novels at this blog which was already the biggest collection of Ibne Safi novels in Hindi at any place online.CCI11042017_00000

Today I’ve brough 4 more novels of this great writer which were published in Jasoosi Duniya series published by Nakahat Publication, Allahabad.

As you all might be aware that Ibne Safi ji used to write in Urdu and his two most famous series has been Fareedi series and Imran series in both of these series he wrote multiple novels which generated immense popularity between readers. Nakahat publication used to translate the same in Hindi with changing Fareedi’s name as ‘Vinod’ and Imran’s name as ‘Rajesh’ and publish them in its Jasoosi Duniya series novels. They were immensely popular in India and I’ve heard people used to stand up in row at the book shop whenever any new edition used to come out.

Today I’ve brough you all 3 novels of Rajesh series and 1 novel of Vinod- Hameed series. I didn’t have physical copy of any of these novels so few of my friends sent me these for scanning and sharing here. One friend is from Lucknow who is like my younger brother but doesn’t want to come in limelight and be anonymous, he is a big lover of Rajesh series and always ready to help me in getting more and more of these novels. And second person is Anupam Agrawal ji, a dear friend whom i consider my big brother. We haven’t met personally still he is such a gem of person that he sent me all his Jasoosi Duniya Novels in one say so that i can scan and preserve them digitally and never asked for anything in return. I absolutely love both of them and can’t express How much I am thankful to them.

So below is the link for 4 Ibne Safi novels published in Jasoosi Duniya. Pease click on the name of the novel to download. All are in PDF for ease of reading on your PCs as well as your digital devices.

1. Download Jasoosi Duniya- Aag aur Geet by Ibne Safi [Rajesh series]

2. Download Jasoosi Duniya- Andha Mujrim by Ibne Safi [Rajesh series]

3. Download Jasoosi Duniya- Nakli Roop by Ibne Safi [Rajesh series]

4. Download Jasoosi Duniya- Vikral Chaya by Ibne Safi [Vinod-Hamid]

With this upload now this blog has 18 novels of Ibne Safi in Hindi and I hope to increase it further in future.

By the way Aag aur Geet, Andha Mujrim and Nakli roop are coverless so if any visitor can provide cover of these novels I would be thankful to them too.

I also hope more people who hold physical copies of Ibne Safi hindi novels will come forward and help me in scanning and preserving them digitally. Sadly I’ve met many people who have multiple novels physically but despite my repeated request they don’t want to share their novels.

Now Regarding inactive links… I’ve been getting reguar Emails and comments that the links of some of the posts are not working. Let me inform you all that those probems are being faced only for the files which are uploaded on Userscloud but those links are working perfectly fine. The problem might be with your internet provider or browser because of which you might be not able to see those upload. I checked all the links myself today and all are working fine.

I hope to post something new after this very soon.

Kiran Comics- 19 Laurel and Hardy [English] Comics free download Links

Hello All,

Its been more than 4 months since i created any post here. Now you all will think that this guy will again start saying that I’ll be more active at the blogging since now and then will be again go missing for a long time, so i won’t make any promises this time. But yes I’ll accept this that for last few months I was rather distracted and confused in my personal life and couldn’t work on scanning comics or blogging, but after a long time I’ve got little clarity now and also some more free time so I hope to make most of it and continue my blogging journey.

So that’s all about my pathetic life, I won’t bore you all talking more. So lets talk about today’s post. Kiran- laurel and Hardy

Today I’ve brought you all 19 English Comics issues of ‘Laurel and Hardy’ which were published by Kiran Comics in the 80s. Before moving ahead let me give you all a little information about Laurel and Hardy. Laurel and Hardy were comedy double act during the early classic hollywood era consisting of English Thin Man Stan Laurel and American Fat man Oliver Hardy. Their double act was quite famous from 1920s to 40s and they worked on multiple films too. Their act also inspired Animation series created by Larry Harmon, which also generated immense popularity.

Later on based on these animated series multiple English comics were published in many countries, and in India there they were mainly published by Kiran Comics in the 80s. Laurel and Hardy comics were published in Both in English as well as Hindi [Few hindi Laurel and Hardy were shared by me in my earlier Kiran comics post]. I really love these comics and have many more of these to share with you all.

Today I am sharing 19 of these Laurel and Hardy comics for you all to Enjoy, which will make this the biggest collection of Laurel and Hardy comics available anywhere on the net. I hope you all like these as much as you liked my earlier posts.

Oh! 14 of these comics are my original scans and 5 of these comics were already scanned by Ajnabee and were earlier shared at Prabha Bhai’s Books & Comics blog. I’ve added both at one place so the visitor’s can get a decent collection at one place.

Project Scanlation: An attempt to provide quality Hindi translation of English and other Non-Hindi Comics

Hello all,

I hope everyone is happy and healthy. First of all let me clarify that today I am not posting any comics to download here, today I am writing this post to inform you all about something which i’ve been thinking for quite some time now and also been working since last few months.

As you might guess by now, that I am a big comics lover and have been working on providing you all these rare Hindi comics which are not easily available these days. You also might know that there are not much available in the form of Hindi comics these days with only two big players remaining in the form of raj and Diamond comics. Even they are mostly concentrating on reprinting their already published comics and have been seldom coming out with new sets.

So for quite some times now I’ve been thinking what if we can get all those comics which are printed/available in English or in Non-Hindi language in our own Hindi language, and have been thinking what to do about it. few months ago I decided to take up Hindi translation of one English comics on trial basis, it came out good and fortunately my group ICP [Indian Comics Preservers] supported and appreciated my work. They also encouraged me to go ahead with few more English comics as well as few of those comics which are not even available in English language.Project Scanlation- 1

Since Last few months I’ve been working on this, and I’ve given this work the title “akfunworld’s Project Scanlation“. Now you might be thinking why ‘Scanlation’? So Scanlation is word coined by Fans in which any comics is scanned and translated from its original language.

In the month of march I finally started a new blog specifically for Scanlation only. At this blog I’ll be providing Hindi translated version of English Comics as well as few non-English comics too. As scanlation takes a lot of time, I’ve planned to post 2 or 3 comics in a month to sustain the flow and speed of the blog. One thing I want to clarify that, these all comics will be translated manually, and I or whoever will be translating the comics will be not using google translator, as that sometimes distort the meaning of the sentence, so you’ll be getting original translation work.

Good news is I’ve already posted 4 translated comics there. Titles of these comics are:

  1. Devi Issue 1: Published by Virgin Comics and created by Shekhar Kapoor this is part of 10 issue series. This was published in English, I’ve translated and Posted this one in Hindi for reading here.
  2. Taar- The Rebel: A german language comics. Published by Dargaud. This comics is not even available in English language. I’ve received help from my friend Gaurav Gandhar and his wife who has helped this comics translated from German language to Hindi. You can read the Hindi translation here. Taar series have 12 or 13 comics published, and good news is Gaurav bhai has already started working on translating the same from German to English. Later on I’ll translate that into Hindi.
  3. Devi issue 2: Issue 2 of Devi series has been also translated in Hindi and posted here to read.
  4. Krishna- A Journey Within: Published by Image Comics. This big 194 page comics was translated by one of my friend Archie Sharma back in 2013 and he sent me this to post it at the blog. You can read it here.

So, this post is only created to introduce you about ‘Project Scanlation‘. I request you to visit and share your suggestion with me to improve it further. If you like it, then subscribe it and also share on various social media platform to help it grow.

I’ve also placed a separate tab by the name ‘Project Scanlation‘ at the top of the blog so you can visit the blog by clicking on that tab.

In future I’ll be updating you about the blog after making 10 new posts there.

Do share your thoughts with me.
