The Windlesham Wildcats U14 Girls Football team have capped off an unforgettable season by winning both their football league title and the League Cup in a remarkable campaign filled with teamwork, determination and memorable moments.

Among the stars of the double-winning squad are four Charters students Martina in Year 7, alongside Olivia, Liv and Neive in Year 8, who all played important roles in the Wildcats’ success this season.

All the girls have been playing football for a relatively short time (between 1-5 years) but their love of the game has quickly taken over to become a huge part of their lives.  They all expressed that the best thing about being part of the team was hanging out with friends and obviously playing football!  Liv summed it up perfectly "The best thing about playing for the Wildcats is that I get to play my favourite sport with some of my best friends”

On the road to their current victory, there have been quite a few standout moments; from Olivia's first goal of the season and Liv's lively hat-trick, to Martina's crucial “top bins” goal against Bedfont (a fast goal into the top corner of the net) and Neive's handy assist in the final!  Every step of the way they have been a team, enjoying the football, friendship and camaraderie that playing sport brings.  Whether it was winning against opposition they thought they couldn't beat to lifting the League Cup, the bottom line is they have had fun.

The Wildcats’ success has been built not only on talent, but also on the strong friendships within the team. Players spoke about enjoying training together every Friday, celebrating victories as a group and supporting each other throughout the season.

Despite the early Sunday morning starts, none of the players complained. In fact, they all agreed that their love of football and excitement to play each week made getting up easy.

With a league title and League Cup now secured, the Windlesham Wildcats U14 have earned a season to remember — and judging by their passion and determination, there could be even more success ahead for this talented young side.
