If you've got a small order that you can handle yourself, you won't require professional help. However, it does get tricky applying
stickers when air bubbles are a common enemy, and almost impossible to defeat. So how does one apply
stickers, with ZERO bubbles? Let's guide you through
some quick tips!
Here are 3 easy ways to remove air bubbles from your stickers!
Press down with your finger:
Use this
technique to easily get rid of bubbles with zero tools! When little bubbles that are smaller than a thumb-size appear, press down on the top of the bubble with your thumb and hold firmly till the pockets of air dissipate. Repeat this motion for all small bubbles on your
sticker. If you're dealing with long bubbles, divide it into
smaller sections before squeezing them down.
Apply heat to stickers:
How do you get rid of bigger sized stickers then? The pressing down trick won't be suitable for all kinds of air bubbles. Use a
hair dryer to heat the sticker's surface for a few seconds, till the bubbles pop. The sticker should evenly flatten out on its own and if it doesn't, you can gently wipe the bubble to the softened
sticker's edge.
Use either a squeegee or the edge of a credit card to aid with this. However, keep in mind that the hair dryer method
might not be suitable for all surfaces and you'll need to be extra careful not to burn yourself or any products.
Use a squeegee:
The most recommended method and a classic favourite!
Remove air bubbles by
using a squeegee.
What is a squeegee? It's a plastic tool that is safe to use on any hard, flat or glass surface. When starting to apply the sticker push the squeegees onto the surface firmly and slowly. Use short and slow strokes to push the air bubbles. Repeat until all of the air bubbles are gone.
