Finished off President Abraham Lincoln from Wonderlands Project and I have to say that this resin model is just awesome in the amount of detail and was a real treat to paint up…another must have for any hobbyist!

One of Knight Models 30mm Star Wars Miniatures
Posted in Sci-Fi on May 29, 2010 by botwtOrdered a few of the 30mm Star Wars Miniatures from Knight Models (Obi-Wan, Han and Anakin) and I am really impressed with the detail…these models aren’t cheap (about $20 US) but are of excellent quality and would recommend them to anyone. I was curious about other entries into their 30mm range so I emailed them and here is what they came back with:
Dear Mr. Terian;
Thank you for your interest and suggestions, we will definitely take them into consideration. At the moment we are working on more 70mm figures, so there won’t be any more 30mm figures for a while.
Sincerely,
NΓΊria Alborch – Knight Models
So it looks like it might be a while before we see any more 30mm models (if ever due to price), but we can always hope that a really cool Darth Vader is around the corner someday…c’mon they have to make Vader!
So I started a conversion of Kit Fisto with the Anakin model and so far so good. It will become interesting when I start to add his tentacles.
Mantic Games’ Ghouls
Posted in Lord of the Rings / Fantasy on May 29, 2010 by botwtWell, been a while since my last post due to a computer issue, but all is remedied now.
So I’ll start out with my free sprue of Mantic Games’ Ghouls that showed up the other day. They come as a multi-part sprue (should have taken a photo of it before I started cutting them apart) and it allows for multiple combinations and have some great detail to them. These fellows will end up as spectres in my Angmar army once I paint them up.
Ogi’s Latest Release
Posted in Reviews / Uncategorized / Misc. on May 15, 2010 by botwtJedi Master Yoda
Posted in Sci-Fi on May 9, 2010 by botwtOne of the very few Wizards of the Coast Star Wars Miniatures that is actually a decent sculpt, however the paint job is just as crappy as the rest of their range. So I repainted him and then chopped off his base and glued him to a more scenic base. Hey, I grew up on Star Wars and every kid from the ’70s just needs to have a Yoda model in his collection!
Latest Citizens of Perdition’s Gulch
Posted in Wild West / Historical on May 8, 2010 by botwtPicked up two of Reaper’s Chronoscope Western Miniatures…Mickey O’Doul, Wild West Bartender and Miss Scarlet, Wild West Madam. They scale up perfectly against the Black Scorpion miniatures (32mm scale) and the detail is excellent.
Angmar Shade
Posted in Lord of the Rings / Fantasy on May 8, 2010 by botwtI presently own one of Games Workshop’s Shades, but wanted to have two available to me so I picked up the Reaper Miniatures’ Night Spectre. It’s a pretty slick little sculpt and was a snap to paint up. I like how he/it came out, however the base looks shabby from the side in these photos.
Hobby ADD Has Struck Again!!
Posted in Sci-Fi on May 8, 2010 by botwtI need to cancel my Internet connection…if I get bored I start surfing around to different miniature websites and after seeing Knight Miniatures 30mm Star Wars collection a while back (thanks alot Miguel! LOL) I the purchased the Han Solo and Obi-Wan minis. Well today is a lousy weather day here in WNY and I am feeling a bit lousy as well so where am I…online. After looking at the Anakin Skywalker miniature they offer I fell in love with the pose (not big on the character myself), however I did wonder if I could create something else out of it…then it hit me…Kit Fisto the squid headed Jedi. He is pretty cool looking and so off on a search I went. Bumped into a good looking plastic model of him on eBay and came up with this concept of the model. Obviously I’ll have to extend the tentacles, but that should be fairly simple.
God, I need a hobby! LOL π
