Amit and Merrie Jo's wedding

Two of my friends from Columbia got married a few weekends ago. It was a beautiful ceremony at the Furman University Amphitheatre and reception at the Furman golf course.

The Bag Lady

A few weeks ago I met my mom, sister, Aunt Connie and Mama in Savannah for the Paula Deen Tour! It was a lot of fun. Highly recommend it if you have a girls trip planned to Savannah anytime in the future. They take you around in an air controlled tour bus all over Savannah telling you the story of how Paula got started as the Bag Lady and went from Rags to Riches. They made a few stops at Polks Market where Paula likes to shop for produce and at Byrds Cookie Company where Paula likes to buy cookies for tea. Byrds let you sample all of their cookies and cheese straws, SO YUMMY! We also stopped at Paula's brother's restaurant, Uncle Bubbas, where we enjoyed a super tasty buffet! Next time I visit Savannah, I will definitely go back to Uncle Bubbas. It was an awesome atmosphere! After the tour ended, we went down to River Street and did some shopping then got freshened up and ate dinner at Lady and Sons, Paula's restaurant! We had the buffet there too and it was great. Here are some of the pics we took along the way...

Where did the weekend go?

This weekend Woody and I made a quick trip to Chattanooga. We drove down after work Friday, got in late, hung out with Dad for a bit and called it a night. Saturday I was lucky enough to get in some play time with my favorite niece, Emma Grace! We had such a good time! I cant believe how much she's grown in 9 months. I love every minute I get with my little EG! Unfortunately, we had to leave her behind when Melissa, Lauren and I headed to Volkswagen's Bug-a-palooza to volunteer. The Volks Folks and Ronald McDonald house put on this event every year at Camp Jordan. There were VW bugs of all colors, ages and designs. It was so cool! Mel and I worked the gate taking money while Lauren worked in the concession stand. There were some pretty interesting people there, it was quite entertaining!

After, we headed home to clean up and head downtown for a surprise 30th birthday dinner for Lauren's hubby Wes. 40 people at TGI Fridays... he is a lucky guy! And we are lucky that it was kept a secret and he was truly surprised!

Unfortunately I didn't take any other pictures this weekend. After dinner we headed over to Big River for the night. I met a group of people from New Orleans who were in town for a wedding. They were very entertaining! Randomly, one of the guys is best friends with a guy here in Charlotte who is a co-owner of one of my favorite spots on the lake. Cant wait for him to come visit and introduce me! :) Sunday was sad because I had to drive home ... in the rain. It was quick and exhausting but it was a good time regardless. I'm now resting up for the next trip. Thursday I'm headed to Savannah to meet up with my mom, sis, aunt and grandmother. We're taking a Paula Deen Tour on Friday which includes lunch at Uncle Bubbas! Then Saturday I'm headed to Greenville, SC for a wedding on the golf course at Furman University. Stay tuned for a post and lots of pics from those fun events!

K's Last Fling Before the Ring!

The first weekend in April, 18 girls from all over the Southeast ventured to Savannah to spend the weekend with our beloved friend Kristin for her bachelorette party! I could not believe that many girls came, stayed in one house together and shared 3 bathrooms, but it worked out great!
Lauren, Jennifer and I met in Savannah Thursday night and stayed with my sister who lives on campus at Armstrong Atlantic University. Friday we ran some errands and picked up supplies to decorate the house for the arrival of the bachelorette caravan. We stopped for lunch at the Dawg House mainly so that Lauren and Jenn could take pics with the huge dawg for their Georgia fan hubbies. It was a really cool place and I'm not even a dawg fan!

We then headed to the bachelorette house we were renting in the historic district to start decorating! Once the rest of the girls got there, we got ready and headed downtown for Mexican and Margaritas at Carlitos.

After dinner, we went back to the house for the hilarious lingerie party and games. I'll keep those pictures to myself! :) Check out the super cute wine glasses Lindsey, sister of the bride/maid of honor, made for us! This is K's glass obviously but ours had our first initial on them.
Image
Saturday morning we headed to the River Walk downtown to do some shopping. They had so many neat stores and were having a tent sale with different vendors so that was really cool too.
Image
Image
After some shopping we headed to Tybee Island for some beach action! Some of us ate at Marlin Monroes (yep - it was a Marlin fish dressed like Marilyn haha!). The food and service weren't as good as the atmosphere but still a fun place. I wish I had pics from that place to share. Some of the girls got them but I haven't seen them yet!
Image
Kristin insisted that we buy a wiffle ball set on the way to the beach. Turned out to be a lot of fun!

We ended up going home in shifts from the beach to get ready for our big night out on the town. All of the girls got dressed up in our pink and decked the bachelorette out in all of her fun accessories, then headed to the Pirate House for dinner.

We were all very sad to leave the beautiful Savannah on Sunday! A few of us had lunch at Vinnie Van Go Gos pizza then hit the road. I cant wait to see my old and new friends in a few weeks in Nashville at the wedding!
