CURREY AND COMPANY

It's about that time when my inbox gets full from companies letting me know about their new items showing at Atlanta's Mart which opens next week.

Twice a year they open their showrooms for buyers to stock their stores with goodies so we will be tempted to redecorate.

No urging there right:)

Since I am about to embark on 2 huge renovations for clients I am deep into looking for lighting and everything else!  Between them both I have about 12 bathrooms to put together......Yes you read that right.

Deep breath.....whew!

I was looking at Currey and Co website and saw some great new pieces that I am sure I will be seeing next week.

The Merton Chandelier

The Tidewater Chandelier

The Goldrush Pendant
Love the Midcentury vibe it gives....here is some inspiration.

Sarah Richardson

It could be used in either of these rooms....

House of Honey

Now for some that aren't new but are still favorites.

The Chantelaine Chandelier

Image
The Saxon Chandelier....isn't it perfect in this room by James Douglas Interiors.  I love that it doesn't take up too much visual space....

The Basket Pendant

Which will add so much texture to a kitchen as you can see below.

And maybe you don't know that they carry some great mirrors also.

This would be great in a beach house....

 The EOS mirror

And sometimes you need a smaller round mirror.  This one is 21" round which could work nicely in a small bathroom.
Image
The Aline Mirror

I love a round mirror in a bath since vanities have square angles so it adds some softness....
Image

And I am in love with the Faux Bois shape in The Creekside Mirror.

Image
I could eat this bathroom.....chomp chomp.
Image
Benjamin Dhong

I am sure I will be sharing all the goodies that I see next week!

A little tip....my husband sprayed this in our backyard since it was like being in the jungles of Guam trying to fight off mosquitos.

Image
It really worked!

I'm off to wake up sleeping beauty for a walk so I can wear her out for the day.  It's the only way.

I just heard on the Today show that modesty is "in" now with bathing suits.  At 63 I'll show them what modesty really is....shorts and a T-shirt.

Just saying.

THIS AND THAT

I hate to sound like a broken record but it does seem like I am getting less done lately.  I forgot how much time I used to have to fluff up my house and think about decorating "before the new puppy".  I mean it's hard to accessorize when everything has to be put up high out of "destroy range".

It must be like having a toddler around so hats off to all of you mothers....I am amazed that you can style something and have time to photograph it.

Not happening around here.

Yesterday I was talking with a new client about her renovation and I guess I kept saying "all white....clean....fresh" a little too much and at the end of my conversation she said "but could we add a little color?"

Ha ha....no!  JK.

I sent her these pictures from my friend designer Cristi Holcombe Interiors and taken by photographer Christina Wedge.

Nice white kitchen but adding some color with fabric.
Image

Same here....but adding color with that great blue vanity!
Image
And a green one this time....

Go take a look at more of this project.

My neighbor threw away her outdoor pillows because they were yucky and moldy.  I scooped those suckers up and took them home.

Image

Proof.

I put them in the washer [insert and all] with outdoor bleach purchased from Home Depot.  Added some detergent and put the setting on heavy duty.  After the first wash they were 85% clean.  I ran it through once more with NO detergent....just bleach.

Like new.

Image

I rehung some pictures for a friend the other day...she was taking them down from one area and I was all pushy "like you need to hang them here".

FYI that large thing over the mantel is a wine root from Napa!

Strolling through ADAC the other day and ran across these great boutique fabrics in Travis & Company.

Image
Cindy Barganier is a designer in Alabama and is responsible for these great fabrics!

I discovered a new app called SketchGuru

Love this light fixture from West Elm.....
Image

Especially since it is my favorite color:)  All lighting 20% off right now.

Well it's time for the first walk of the day with Cami.....gotta go early before the heat gets too bad:)

Have a great weekend y'all!

SCOTT'S

It has actually been a few months since I cruised through Scott's.  Between work and the fact that I don't need anything [like that has actually stopped me from buying before!] sometimes I try not to go.

In all honesty I go for inspiration as much as anything you know?

Image

Like the finish on the antique chest....raw.

And of course pillows....

Image

I have tried to use this Romo fabric before....so cute.
Image

Love this Kravet stripe fabric also.
Image

Image

You guys know I am a pretty neutral person but if I have to pick jewel tones then I love these....where the blue is "teal" the red is "spice" and the yellow is "sunflower".

Great textiles....

Audrey [[email protected]] always has the prettiest pillows....and she gave me some advice on growing maidenhair ferns!

Don't water from the top....put the pot in a bigger container and put the water in the bottom of it.

Nice bathroom vanity.

I was looking at this Amy Howard chalk paint color to maybe paint something.....someday.

I have a client who wants a vintage flag to frame....
Image

And how hot is live edge furniture now?
Image

Image

There you have it.

Instead of eating a pinecone and bugging the crap out of me....
Image
She has been sleeping peacefully beside me this morning!  There seems to be no rhyme or reason with this girl.  Many of you gave me suggestions for her....yes I do use the Kong when I crate her.

Also....the suggestion of getting a second dog is out of the question.  It was all I could do to talk my husband into getting one.  I do send her to doggie day care one day a week...and we have a neighbor who has a Portuguese Water Dog that she loves to play with.

I have to keep telling myself it has only been a month since we got her.  I think she is testing me and here's a newsflash Cami........

I will win:)
