Amazon Rainforest Tracker

Every day 200,000 acres of the Amazon Rainforest are burned down to ashes, not even leaving roots. This fact is astonishing, especially since the Amazon produces 20% of the oxygen we breathe in.

Inspiration

We were inspired by the fight to end deforestation.

What it does

It is a website that raises awareness for the fight against deforestation by using graphs and a donation page.

How we built it

We coded in replit.com and by using languages HTML, CSS, and JS.

Challenges we ran into

Coding was definitely the biggest challenge. Neither of us had ever done web development so it was like dipping our toes into murky water.

We learned a lot about how to code in CSS, HTML, JS. More specifically how to code trackers, graphs, and websites.

We're probably going the get into more hackathons and master how to code.
