We all love watching anime but it's tough deciding what to watch next? Have you been in the same situation before? Here comes solution to your problem. Find your next binge-worthy anime with our app.
What it does
It features all-time top rated anime on the homepage. Further, it lets you search for the top anime from every genre available. It also provides user with the overview and rating of the anime along with the option to watch trailer within the app.
How we built it
We built the app on React and used GitHub to make collaboration easier.
Challenges we ran into
There were multiple challenges while building the app, we had to use multiple APIs like google cloud (YouTube Data API) to search and fetch videos from YouTube, Jikan API to fetch anime from all genres and searching the anime database for summary & featured image.
Therefore, we had to go through a lot of documentations, it helped us better understand documentation structure and how to explore it. We also used Postman to test the APIs, which made things a lot better for us. Some of the team members created designs and graphics which were quite challenging but they came out beautiful.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Making it publicly available, reading a lot of documentation, learning a lot about APIs and how to handle errors.
What we learned
I think my words aren't enough for what we've learnt today. The most essential skill we learnt was communication and collaboration. It made tough tasks easier than before.
What's next for AnimeHunter
We're thinking about adding light theme so users can customize as per their taste, ongoing anime, more info about the anime and the related manga. It can become one of the anime info platform.
