Inspiration
There are many child abduction cases in Detroit that prevent children from walking home. Often times, a parent is unable to pick their child up due to work or other unpredictable circumstances and this app will allow the child to safely walk home instead of having to wait.
What it does
It allows parents to track their child's progress on a certain route to a destination, alerting them if the child strays off the path. The child is able to call for help directly on the app, and the parent is able to safely continue their work without having to worry about the child.
How we built it
The app was built using Swift and Firebase.
Challenges we ran into
It was difficult to integrate signal calling between the two users without causing the app to be much slower
Accomplishments that we're proud of
The app is fully functional and could be used.
