In Berkeley, there has been a rising interest in buying locally produced foods. Recently, an app was built that allowed customers to scan the bar codes of various food items to track their origin. The app provides an easy way to choose more locally produced foods and minimize their carbon footprint. Could something similar be implemented in online retail?
