Inspiration

Airline booking is essential for global connectivity, but traditional systems often require internet access and digital literacy, leaving many travelers underserved. This problem is even worse when flights get canceled, leaving flyers high and dry in stress full queues and dysfunctional interfaces. This inspired us to create Grover, a voice-based airline booking assistant accessible to everyone.

What it does

Grover provides a fully conversational AI assistant that allows users to search for flights, make bookings, manage itineraries, and rebook flights via phone calls and the dashboard. Where we are able to notify users of sudden changes through a simple call.

How we built it

We developed Grover by integrating Retell AI for natural language processing, OpenAI for managing dialogues, supabase for secure data storage, a React and Tailwind CSS-based admin dashboard, and connected with the American Airlines api to recover the airline flight data. Additionally for bookings we sought to use crewAI agent tools to parse and retrieve information.

Challenges we ran into

We encountered difficulties with integrating multiple booking and flight APIs, achieving accurate natural language understanding across diverse languages, and creating an intuitive voice user experience. Crucially we had a challenge maintaining compliance and verification.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We have successfully developed a functional prototype that integrates with American Airlines and global distribution system APIs. Additionally, we have created an interactive voice agent capable of handling and managing your flight tickets.

What we learned

We deepened our understanding of airline booking system complexities, enhanced our natural language processing techniques , gained expertise in designing architectures, and prioritized user-centric design for effective voice interactions.

What's next for Grover

We plan to expand language and dialect support, implement advanced personalization and fraud detection features, develop a complementary mobile app, integrate in-flight services bookings, enhance AI-driven customer support, establish global partnerships, and continuously upgrade our security protocols to ensure comprehensive data protection.
