Inspiration

Insurance processes are often slow, fragmented, and frustrating—for both customers and insurance agents. Traditional systems rely heavily on manual paperwork, back-and-forth emails, and siloed data. We were inspired to build ClaimWise to streamline and modernize the insurance experience using Salesforce, AI, and automation—making it seamless, fast, and user-friendly for both customers and supervisors.

What it does

ClaimWise is a full-stack insurance automation solution that:

  • Allows customers to create insurance policies directly via Agentforce on an Experience Cloud site.
  • Sends DocuSign links for document signing and image upload.
  • Automatically creates Experience Cloud portal users with personalized dashboards.
  • Enables supervisors to manage and approve policies and claims via a Slack-integrated Agentforce assistant.
  • Supports document signing via DocuSign with webhooks triggering real-time updates in Salesforce.
  • Helps both customers and supervisors track policy and claim status.
  • Sends email notifications for approvals, rejections, and user onboarding.

How we built it

We used:

  • Salesforce Experience Cloud for building a customer-facing portal.
  • *Agentforce * for natural language interaction and automation.
  • Salesforce Apex for backend logic, policy and claim management.
  • DocuSign integration for collecting eSignatures and documents.
  • Slack integration for supervisor-side automation and approvals.
  • Visualforce pages for generating dynamic policy documents.
  • Lightning Web Components (LWC) to display user data and enable edits.
  • Custom Objects for storing Policy, Claim, Vehicle, and Contact data.

Challenges we ran into

  • Handling callouts and DML in the same transaction required asynchronous actions and restructured logic.
  • Maintaining consistent context across Agentforce conversations needed modular Apex actions and fallback handling.
  • Auto-provisioning portal users with correct permissions and associations was tricky.
  • Ensuring dynamic document generation with conditionally included clauses based on user selections took careful VF design.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  • Built a complete end-to-end insurance solution on Salesforce from scratch.
  • Seamlessly integrated Slack and DocuSign into the workflow for real-time supervisor interaction.
  • Enabled dynamic, AI-assisted policy Q&A powered by Einstein GPT with personalized VF-based content.
  • Created an intuitive customer journey from policy creation to claim resolution.

What we learned

  • Deep integration of various Salesforce features (Agentforce, DocuSign, LWC, VF, Slack) can result in powerful, scalable systems.
  • Building context-aware conversational agents requires thoughtful UX and clear Apex structure.
  • Automating traditional workflows using Salesforce tools significantly improves both user and admin experience.

What's next for Claimwise

  • Integrate Generative AI to analyze uploaded car damage images using EXIF metadata for fraud detection and pre-validation of claims.
  • Expand multilingual support in Agentforce for broader user accessibility.
  • Add a supervisor dashboard with real-time analytics and policy/claim trends.
  • Enable mobile-first interaction and DocuSign signing for customers on the go.
