Inspiration

The color analysis feature of the game was inspirited from iTunes 11 that can automatically change the background colour of a playlist based on the most common colour present on the album picture.

How it works

Game flow:

  1. Player take a picture of his/her surroundings.
  2. The top 3 most common colors will be selected from the picture taken
  3. The colors selected will be applied to the main character that players will control as well as the children fish of the main character.
  4. The player will need to control the main character to rescue its baby fish that is surrounded in bubbles.
  5. At the same time, player need to avoid to rescue baby sharks.
  6. If the player mistakenly rescue baby sharks more than 3 times, a big shark will come out and chase the main fish character.
  7. if the main fish character get collided with the big shark, the game will be end.
  8. Players can use the coins gotten from the game play to purchase different skins and use then in the future gameplay.
  9. Players can upload the screenshot to their Facebook account when the game is over. ## Challenges I ran into Design and develop the color analysis algorithm, developing and integrating the Facebook sharing system to the game, optimizing the execution time of the color analysis process, etc.

I learned different color space models and how to apply them in the color analysis algorithm developed.

What's next for ColorFish

It will be improved by polished art assets and more adjustments on the gameplay based on player feedback.
