Inspiration

We realized that many people, both seniors and the younger generation, lack the knowledge to stay safe in the digital age. We found it shocking that even as technology advances, there's a gap in education around cybersecurity, and many big tech companies aren't doing enough to bridge it or even contribute to it. This inspired us to create CyberSequre, a mobile platform dedicated to making cybersecurity education accessible, engaging, and effective for everyone.

What it does

CyberSequre is an interactive platform designed to teach users the essentials of cybersecurity in a fun and accessible way. It offers:

  • Password Strength Checker: Allows users to update their passwords with fool proof and secure passwords, aided by the algorithms and feedback from our password checker
  • Interactive Scenarios: Real-life Call simulation where users can practice identifying and avoiding cyber threats.
  • Quizzes: Gamified content that reinforces learning and allows users to test their knowledge.
  • ChatBot: A 24/7 AI chatbot that replies to user queries, the chatbot is trained from government resources and data making it more reliable and trustworthy
  • Guide: A CyberSecurity guide that allows users to quickly refer to it at any time, making it handy and easy to use. -Password Manager: The local password manager stores passwords on the device locally in an encrypted format so that passwords aren't leaked even during cyber attacks -Data Breach Checker: The data breach checker allows users to input an email, the API checks the breached data in databases and the app informs users if breaches are found

How we built it

We built CyberSequre using a combination of modern web development tools and frameworks:

  • Frontend: Developed using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for a responsive and user-friendly interface.
  • Application: We used Kodular, a popular mobile application development platform to create the application side of the project. -API's: we made use of the Data Breach API, Google Favicon API and the chatbot API ### Challenges we ran into One of the biggest challenges we faced was making complex cybersecurity concepts understandable and engaging for users of all ages. We wanted to ensure that our content was not only informative but also easy to grasp, regardless of the user's technical background. Additionally, balancing the security of user data while maintaining a smooth user experience was a significant hurdle.

  • User-Friendly Design: Achieving a design that is both intuitive and visually appealing, ensuring users stay engaged.
  • Comprehensive Content: Developing educational content that covers a broad range of cybersecurity topics in an engaging way.

What we learned

Through this project, we learned a great deal about the importance of user-centric design in educational tools. We also gained deeper insights into the challenges of cybersecurity education and how to effectively communicate these issues to a non-technical audience.
