An infinite possibilities of escape rooms - made by the community themselves! Users create and share their own escape room.

Inspiration

We really love escape rooms, especially those with really fun puzzles and immersive production. We also love easy to use tools that help people express themselves and just get creative. We thought that VR would be an incredible way to merry these two ideas. And so we came up with Conundrum: Escape Room Maker VR.

How It Was Built

Conundrum was made with Unity 6, C#, Meta Quest 3, Red Bull, blood, and sweat.

Challenges

This project was an absolute nightmare. This is our first time developing in XR and Unity so we had issues almost every 5 minutes. We learned a lot but also had to adjust and make many compromises along the way. There were multiple times where we would be so close to fully realizing a feature but were then trumped by inexperience, lack of resources, and/or time. But we did our best reading and watching tutorials and documentation trying to make sense of what we're doing while also trying to make progress.

We're pretty happy with how much we were able to achieve in such a short time and being new to VR and Unity development.

What's next

We'd love to revisit many of the cut features and bring more quality of life to the game as well as further explore this idea once we gain more experience with VR development.
