Inspiration

  Turned financial market excitement into language learning. Why shouldn't discovering a word's history feel like watching a stock ticker?

What it does

A Telegram Mini App where you invest virtual currency in words. Buy/sell shares of words like "crypto," track a live market, and see real etymology from ety.ai.

How we built it

 Backend: Rust (Axum) on Railway – simulates markets and manages portfolios.
 Frontend: TypeScript Telegram Mini App on Vercel.
 Core: Integrated ety.ai's API to power the word data.

Challenges we ran into

   Building a full Rust + TypeScript stack in 4 hours. Navigating Telegram's WebApp environment and browser security (CSP).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

  A fully working  prototype in one sprint. Clean integration with ety.ai. A novel, engaging take on etymology.

What we learned

    Rust is hackathon-fast. Gamification makes etymology sticky. Telegram Mini Apps are a powerful launchpad.

What's next for etytrade

   Real ETTY token integration, social leaderboards, AI trend signals for words, and classroom features for teachers.
