Inspiration
Earlier at the beginning of the school year, when COVID-19 had hit a few months prier, I realized how deeply exercise truly affected the physical body and mental mind. I watched a video before that showed the benefits exercise does to everyone. That's how I came up with Time Your Exercise, realizing that most people aren't getting enough exercise.
What it does
Time Your Exercise helps track exercise and makes sure that you get the necessary amount of exercise during this pandemic to help you deal with mental stress and to help you feel way better.
How we built it
I built Time Your Exercise by using repl.it as my software and HTML, CSS, and JavaScript as my languages. I also used Procreate to draw the assets and to make my logo.
Challenges we ran into
One of the challenges I ran into was trying to get rid of the padding between the navbar and the edge of the screen. Another challenge was drawing the photos. I also had issues naming the website, since I couldn't really decide on one. I also had a bit of an issue in the start about what to make... hence the name on the website url... but I eventually decided on making an exercise timer since I feel really strongly about that.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
One accomplishment that I'm proud of was the timer I made using JavaScript. It helped me learn about JavaScript better and how to make one if I ever needed to again in the future.
What we learned
As I said earlier, one of the things I learned was how to make a timer in JavaScript. I also learned how to better style a button in CSS.
What's next for Time Your Exercise
Next, I would like to enhance Time Your Exercise by creating a log-in page allowing users to log-in (as the title shows) and for their progress to be saved. I'd also like to make a reward system for like, exercising for 30 minutes, instead of just giving them a break. Time Your Exercise helped me learn a lot and I hope that it can also help others too!
