What it does
Fin-Edx trains students in both academics and job interviews in order to secure their future. In the frontend user interface, we first ask either student or instructor to log into their accounts respectively. There are five main features here: fin-edx coin count, notes modules, quiz modules, AI tutor, a weekly duel contests. In notes modules, everything about finance would be uploaded there in short-to-the-point entry with attached video files that further explain about the notes. To implement the notes in students' memories, we allow quizzes with response to each module of the course. For every correct question in the quizzes, we allow 1 fin-edx coin: these fin-edx coins can be used to redeem prices when they reach a certain amount and also raise your rank in the dashboard. Then, there is an one-on-one contest that practices real-life job interview questions and logical-thinking problems. This contest allows students to face the future obstacles they can experience when they step into the business industry. At the end, the winner of this contest is also allowed 50 fin-edx coins as a motivational price. With the accumulated fin-edx coins, students can go to shop and redeem prices!
How we built it
React.js, TypeScript, Two cans of Red-bull
Challenges we ran into
Unfortunately, we had to scratch our first idea and develop our second idea which delay us in our coding processes. Hence, we had a tight battle between a good idea and the time limit.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We were able to solve plenty of technical problems that we have never faced before.
What we learned
How to speed run web development in 10 hours.
What's next for Fin-Edx
We plan to implement new features that would allow students real-world finance industry and train them to get better. An example would be a game of stock buying and selling where students would experience how the stock market plays out in the real life.
