Inspiration
Studying, happens in many different ways. Either, it's through practice problems, or memorizing concepts/definitions different people study different ways. We wanted to create a simple yet creative way for people to study concepts or definitions via a mobile app or online.
What it does
Any person can input information (term:definition) and flashDash will segment this information into terms and definition. It will then output different cue cards where the person can test their memory and understanding of concepts based on the notes they input.
How we built it
We build the app using Android Studio and we built the website version of this app using primarily using JavaScript.
Challenges we ran into
Learning the basics of deploying an app. Figuring out UI for an app. Programming the app in Java and recreating a webversion of this in JavaScript. Looking at how to use databases in our programs to have some personal customization depending on the user
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Learning how to use a database, deploying a functional app in less than 24 hours, and creating the product on two completely different platforms.
What we learned
How to use Android Suite to deploy a functional app, Javascript, and databases/file handling
What's next for flashDash
Add more features such as search and editing specific information. Also validation of user entries (ex: No duplicates)
