Homelessness is an epidemic that plagues our nation.
What it does
Allows for seamless communication between shelters, service providers, the homeless, and volunteer groups. Creates a content management system for administrators to ease the process of providing help. Introduces new ways for individuals to volunteer their living arrangements as a form of shelter. Lets utility providers and banks alert local support networks of unpaid dues to better provide help before it's too late. Shares information about your local area's support network in the form of easy-to-visualize and user-centric maps. Generates insightful statistics that are shared with care providers.
How we built it
Everything is built on top of PHP.
Challenges we ran into
Public datasets are largely unavailable - as some of this information is sensitive. We spent a lot of time scraping the web for data we could use and extrapolated the rest.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Combined, our team has accumulated a collective 13.5 hours of sleep over the course of two nights.
What's next for Clementine
Scaling up. Partnering with major utility providers. Working with complete datasets to provide a more complete picture and generate more accurate statistics.
