Inspiration

We wanted to make an impact on the communities around us and felt that encouraging sustainable living was the best way to do so. Making sustainability more fun is a great way to encourage positive change.

What it does

The web app is intended to encourage the user to practice more sustainable living habits while rewarding them with the growth of an endangered animal.

How we built it

We built the program utilizing HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, Python, JSON, and PHP within VS Code.

Challenges we ran into

We ran into some issues utilizing JavaScript because some of us weren't familiar with the language. There were also issues with the styling as well as a few Git commit problems (we resolved those conflicts, though).

Accomplishments that we're proud of

We learned how to code with JavaScript while developing the program.

What we learned

We learned lots about version control as well as creating Python servers to run our code on.

What's next for GreenPet

We hope to bring the program fully to completion utilizing the skills we've learned throughout this hackathon
