We created a great process going forward that we can recommend using.

I contributed to the project as a full stack engineer and project manager. I created and designed the home / sign up page as well as the mock database on the back end. The front end was a quick set up, however I found that most of the attention was needed on the back end. In our project, we kept getting an error which stated any network method on the back end (XHR, Ajax, Fetch) was not defined. This disabled us from using G-Suite services and is an issue I’m looking into post hackathon. Since we weren’t able to use a cloud database, I mocked a database by defining a DB class which had array instances corresponding to the three categories of data we wanted to store (students, volunteers, admins). We weren’t able to get this to have the functionality we were looking for since our pages were created using server-side rendering. I learned a lot about team organization, alternative services our team should have used, and what I need to do in order to be a stronger engineer.
