Inspiration
Ever since I got into Dev-Stuff, I've met many people who ask me about where I learn from. Ever I struggle with choosing the correct path & resources.
What it does
So, to curb the difficulties that beginner devs come across, we decided to create an app that has all the resources you need curated in one place.
How we built it
Basically, this was our project in my first ever hackathon but due to lack of experience and time management we couldn't complete it. Also, it was build using Vanilla HTML-CSS-JS.
However, this time we've migrated it entirely to React for it to become more dynamic & scalable.
Challenges we ran into
In order to save time I chose to not go with React which turned out to be a huge headache. It would’ve been faster with Templating & json mapping if I had invested time in setting up React earlier.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
Firstly, this was my first Hackathon & I by participating I found that I’m go at time bound working.
What we learned
The biggest learning with this project was that selecting the correct set of technologies is crucial.
What's next for hacker-source
First of all we’ll migrate it to better technology & then add crowdsourcing functionality.
