Inspiration💡

Nostalgia is one of our worst enemies, so we wanted to bring back Tamagotchi pets, with a major difference to all the other virtual pet apps, and that is, the focus on self health-care and adopting a pet with another person.

What it does❓

By completing health-care tasks (e.x.: drinking water, brushing your teeth, exercising), you can get rewarded with virtual coins than you can later spend with your pixelated friend in vanity items or taking care of it. You can also play a mini-game with your partner in order to earn more coins and have some fun together.

How we built it 🏗️

We used React, Capacitor and Javascript for the front-end, and Express, Socket.io and Typescript for the back-end. We collaborated using Microsoft's Live-Share extension for Visual Studio Code, and made our code publicly available in GitHub.

Accomplishments that we're proud of

• Winning the "Mom's Spaghetti" challenge in MLH's Hack or Treat 2
• Recreating a retro-style to the front-end
• Making a working prototype of the end app
