Inspiration
Well. The world of software can be a bit daunting with burnouts and lack of inspiration to code and you might give up if you do not know how to manage these things. I sort to build something that could keep me motivated and so I birthed HappyQuotes
What it does
A simple platform that renders quotes of Software leads and individuals as a form of motivation to users.
How I built it
Mostly as a side project within my National Service Period. I will dedicate a little time after work each day and within two months I had completely built version 1 of this application.
Challenges I ran into
Hosting the application on Heroku was my most challenging encounter mostly because I had written tests for my server and that meant I had to rewrite and restructure code into a more modular form. This broke parts of my app and was unable to run once it was hosted.
Accomplishments that I'm proud of
I had its first user about a week ago who contributed to the quotes and he is excited to contribute to code as well.
What I learned
I learnt that sometimes the most complex problem has the simplest solutions and we should always strive for simplicity.
What's next for happyquotes
Thinking on new features to add.
