Inspiration
When joining RSOs at UW, we are often approached with a website called When2meet. This website does exactly as the name says. It provides a calendar with available times that people are available. However, the UI/UX design isn't the most user friendly.
What it does
Our website allows for users to find meeting times easily. We do this by having both users input their calendar as a file. The backend takes care of all the work and syncs both calendars to provide times that are available to both users.
How we built it
Front-End Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JQuery.
Back-End Development: Python, Flask, and various APIs.
Challenges we ran into
Syncing google calendar does not work because google requires verification. This process takes roughly 4-6 weeks. To overcome this, we have made a temporary calendar.
Accomplishments that we're proud of
We made it work!
What we learned
To put it in short, a fellow hacker came in only knowing Java. Now he is coming out with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills.
