Inspiration

Two of our friends both interned at the same company but had very different experiences at that company. There were a lot of things we wanted to know before going into our internships that weren't the most searchable online, so we wanted to make a website where a lot of commonly searched information was easily accessible, and where past interns could be transparent about their experiences.

What it does

internCore is a website where interns can write reviews of their experiences and read more about other intern experiences at companies. A lot of reviews on websites like Glassdoor can be vague and are more oriented to full-time roles, so we wanted to create a space designated for interns to share what it's like to work at their companies, why they picked the companies, and what the hiring process is like - since a lot of intern experiences differ from full-time ones.

How we built it

We created brainstorms and wireframes using Figma to design user interfaces and experiences. If we had the time to code the project, we would use a React.js based website, Firebase for user authentication, and the Firebase realtime database to store information and reviews on the website.

Challenges we ran into

I'm gonna be real here, getting into HackUTD was a real challenge. Shoutout to Nick. (I'm just kidding, iykyk)

What we learned

We learned a little more about how to translate inspiration from design into actual mockups and learned how to conduct good user interviews.

What's next for internCore

One day, we may actually develop a tangible website, but for now please enjoy our Figma file :)
